1982:

Lindsey and I spooned watching the movie Sara left on before she went upstairs. I still couldn't believe he'd touch me at 9 months. His arm laid on my hip and his hand on my stomach, anticipating a kick. His face was nuzzling in my neck.

"Lindsey?" I said, attempting to turn around. "Do you love me?"

"Yes. What kind of a question is that for the man you're engaged to?"

"Would you say you're playing then?"

"What?"

"Do you remember Dreams? Well 'Players only love you when they're playing'."

"Do you think I'm a player?"

"You used to be."

"Stevie. I don't want to leave off like this. You're going in tomorrow to have your water broken. Can we just be happy?"

"Yeah. I'm sorry babe." I turned back around. "This is the stupidest movie I have ever seen!"

"Does Sara even like this?"

"She doesn't like anything."

"Just like her daddy."

"Hey. Nothing has been confirmed yet."

"I really don't think it has to be. Have you seen those curls or heard the way she sings?"

"I know. You know, I really appreciate you teaching her all of those songs about us breaking up. And by the way shacking up isn't the only thing I wanted to do!"

"Maybe now."

"Well definitely not now. I mean look at you." I said giggling.

"Night. Hate you!"

"Love you too Mr. Buckingham."
