The sun shines on the birds while they're in a big cage. BLUEY and ANGIE are on one side while PEAR and MIKA are on the other. CINNAMON hops toward their cage.
CINNAMON
Hey guys! I'm here to visit!
ANGIE
(to BLUEY)
Um...who's that?
BLUEY
(to ANGIE)
My natural friend! We first met when I flew away and then he came back a year later! We're like besties now!
PEAR
Yo, I can hear you, Bluey! Who's your bestie?
BLUEY
Great. Not you being jealous. Again.
PEAR
Answer the question!
BLUEY
Okay, okay! In our bird home, like, the human home, you're my bestie, but in terms of outside friends, Cinnamon is my bestie. Happy?
PEAR gives a satisfying nod.
BLUEY
(to CINNAMON)
So how have you been? It's been a while! We missed you for a month.
CINNAMON
(to BLUEY)
Pretty hectic raising little babies, you know, feeding and finding food. All that good stuff.
BLUEY
(to CINNAMON)
Sounds busy!
ANGIE
Y'all seem to have such a good friendship! I approve!
ANGIE bobs her head multiple times.
PEAR
Okay, great. So while you guys are hanging out with Bluey's little friend, I'm just gonna be here with Mika.
BLUEY
He has a name!
PEAR
Can birds even eat cinnamon?
CINNAMON
Eat me?!
PEAR
No, no! I meant the spice cinnamon! I think the human named you that because your striped pattern looks cool and like cinnamon rolls.
CINNAMON breathes a sigh of relief.
BLUEY
Well, to answer your question, I think birds can eat cinnamon. It's just that the humans haven't given us any.
MIKA
Because they don't have any, dummy!
BLUEY
Woah, where'd you come from? I almost forgot you existed!
MIKA
Excuse me?!
BLUEY
I'm kidding!
MIKA
Sure...
BLUEY
No, it's just that you haven't been in this conversation yet. I was just wondering where you've been.
MIKA
Well, during the conversation, I was in this cage with you all, just playing with toys and eating and preening.
BLUEY
Uh-huh...
PEAR
So may I ask how you know the humans don't have cinnamon?
MIKA
Well, earlier this morning, I flew around in the house when Elizabeth let me out.
BLUEY
We all need insiders like you.
