As Skye approached Christopher outside the hospital, she could see the seriousness etched on his face. They found a quiet bench nearby, away from the bustle of the hospital, where they could talk privately. The air between them was thick with anticipation and uncertainty.

Christopher was the first to speak, his voice firm yet supportive. "Skye, I want you to know that I'm here for you, no matter what. But I need to be honest – I can't support abortion or adoption. This is our child, and I think we should raise it together."

Skye listened, a mix of relief and apprehension washing over her. The idea of raising a child together was daunting, yet Christopher's willingness to be involved provided a sense of solidarity.

"I agree," Skye responded after a moment. "It's going to be challenging, but I think co-parenting is the right choice for us."

The conversation then shifted to the practicalities of their situation. They discussed schedules, finances, and how they would navigate their professional lives alongside their new responsibilities. It was a lot to take in, but they both felt a sense of purpose as they laid the groundwork for their future as co-parents.

Christopher then mentioned his parents. "My parents want to meet you," he said, a hint of hesitation in his voice. "They're still coming to terms with the news, but they want to be involved."

Skye nodded, understanding the significance of this meeting. Meeting Christopher's parents would be a major step, one that solidified the reality of their situation.

As their conversation drew to a close, Christopher extended an unexpected invitation. "Would you like to come over for dinner later? There's actually something I've never tried that you might find amusing."

Skye raised an eyebrow, curious. "And what's that?"

"I've never had Taco Bell," Christopher admitted, a sheepish grin on his face.

Skye burst out laughing, the tension from their conversation momentarily dissipating. "Seriously? You've never had Taco Bell? That's almost criminal."

Christopher laughed along, relieved to see her in better spirits. "I guess my upbringing was a bit too upscale for fast food. But I'm willing to give it a try, especially if it's something you're craving."

Skye smiled, feeling a bit lighter. "Taco Bell it is, then. I'll come over later."

As they parted ways, Skye felt a complex mix of emotions. The path ahead was fraught with challenges, but there was also a sense of hope. They were taking this journey together, and that made all the difference.

Walking back to her car, Skye couldn't help but smile at the thought of introducing Christopher to the delights of Taco Bell. It was a small, normal thing amidst the chaos of their lives, and somehow, it felt just right.
