Maxine and Jace returned to school in time for lunch," Want to sit over there by that lad?" Jace offers." Sure," Maxine nods tiredly." You seem very tired Prințesa," Jace notes.

"I haven't been sleeping well," Maxine says softly smiling." Since when?" Jace wonders." Since last week?" Maxine says unsure." You're gonna sleep tonight darling," Jace says softly kissing her forehead.

They go to sit by the lad and he looks up to see them sitting by him." Do you mind?" Jace asked." No not at all," He says." Thank you, I'm Jace this is Max," Jace says." I'm Boyd, and good to meet you both," Boyd nods in greeting.

Suddenly, Maxine and Jace see a transformed Erica coming into the cafeteria, and she catches everyone's attention and makes her way around to Boyd, Maxine, and Jace." Nice kitty," Maxine winks." Thanks, Maxine come on," Erica says, putting her hand out and Maxine and Jace leave with Erica not before saying goodbye to Boyd.

Maxine and Jace get in the back of Derek's Camaro as Erica enters the front of the car and sees Scott and Stiles running out to catch Derek, Erica, smirks at them as they drive away to the rail depot.

Maxine was cuddled up with Jace, feeling under the weather. Derek looks her over and Jace growls in at Derek." She doesn't look good, what have you two been doing lately?" Derek wonders." You really want me to answer that?" Jace says with a look." Never mind," Derek says walking away.

Isaac came to see if Maxine was okay and Jace growls in warning for Isaac to back off." Isaac, I wouldn't, he'll rip your head off," Derek says. Isaac stops and backs away," No he's okay to say hello," Maxine says softly smiling." Jace, leave Isaac alone," Maxine warns him and Isaac comes over Maxine hugs him as Isaac hugs her.

"I got to recruit one more person and that's my pack complete," Derek tells the two." Do whatever you want Derek, we have no intention of getting involved," Maxine smiles softly as she strokes Issac's and Jace's.

"He loves you, you know Jace," Derek notes." I love him," Maxine smiles down at Jace. Jace nuzzles Maxine's neck and makes grumbling content noises and they all fall asleep in one another's arms.

Maxine and Jace were having a day off due to Maxine being ill and overtired. So they were at the rail depot with Issac and Derek.

Maxine was curled up on a soft spot in the rail depot sleeping when Jace could hear three heartbeats coming from Maxine her own and two others coming from her stomach.

"She's pregnant?" Jace says softly kneeling beside her." You're gonna need my pack's protection now," Derek says softly putting his hand on Jace's shoulder." Fine, only for her benefit," Jace nods." You're gonna need us as she and they are going to be a target, trust me," Derek says softly before leaving.

Jace puts his hand on Maxine's stomach and lays beside her as Isaac comes to see her." Back off," Jace growls lowly." I just wanted to give you these?" Isaac says showing food and drinks to Jace which he takes and nods in thanks.

Jace picks Maxine up and holds her close as she sleeps," Jace I need something to be sick in," Maxine groans and Isaac runs in and gives her a bucket to throw up in. Maxine groans and Jace strokes her hair, "It's okay," Jace says softly.

"I hate being ill," Maxine groans." I know sweetheart," Jace says softly."Maybe I'm due on. I get sick when I'm about to come on," Maxine mutters tiredly. Maxine falls asleep again, "She doesn't know?" Isaac says." Nope, too early for a human to know about but she'll soon know," Jace says softly.

Later that day Erica came back and Derek and Isaac were heading out." Be back soon getting my last beta," Derek says looking at Jace." Okay, now go away I got to protect my mate and our pups," Jace says wavering Derek off." Can I stay?" Isaac asks softly," Why do you care about Maxine and our kids?" Jace wonders." She seems like a nice person," Isaac says with a soft smile.

"We'll be fine, go with your alpha and leave us be," Jace says softly smiling before paying a poorly Maxine attention. Isaac nods and goes to leave but looks at Maxine and Jace before leaving." I got us now Max, I won't let anyone harm you," Jace says softly kissing her head.

An hour later Derek returned with Issac, Erica and Boyd," Jace? Maxine?" Boyd questions." Jace is my cousin, Maxine is his mate," Derek explains to Boyd." Makes sense, nice to see you again Jace," Boyd waves." You too," Jace nods." Is Max alright?" Boyd questions." Fine, just unwell," Jace says evasively.

The pack rest up and Derek goes to get something for Maxine's morning sickness and hands it to Jace before leaving them to have a private space.
