Sleepy Confessions - Winchesters

I've always been the type to enjoy a quiet night after a successful hunt instead of going out to drink away the day. I mean, who could really blame me? Slaying any of the various kinds of supernatural creatures can take a lot out of a person. So, after a two weeklong vampire hunt, I was just ready to hop in the shower, wash off the ungodly amount of blood and guts that had covered me head to toe, and hit the sack.

Once we got back to the hotel, I called first to call dibs on the shower. I took my time but made sure that I left enough hot water for both brothers. Every part of me was scrubbed down until I couldn't tell what was blood or just my skin turning red. When I got out, I threw on some comfy pajamas, slipped under the covers of the nearest bed, closing my eyes and tried to fall asleep.

Sam and Dean had a completely different routine. The two of them hoped in and out of the shower in record time and headed out to the nearest bar. Not that I minded, really. The peace and quiet of the hotel room that the three of us ended up sharing was enough for me. Though as the door closed behind them, I couldn't help but smile and shake my head. The Winchesters just couldn't resist a good time and I wasn't going to judge them for it either.

Hours had passed, and though I hadn't quite made it yet, I was well on my way to dreamland when I heard the door of the hotel open. The boys were back from their time out, no doubt, and from what I could hear, they both were still buzzed on the adrenaline of the hunt... and probably the alcohol too.

Feigning the sleep I was so desperate to be in, I lay still in my bed with my back turned to them as I listened as they settled into their respective beds, Dean in the bed with me and Sam in the other. Their conversation was filled with praise, not for each other but for me. Which was surprising to me because I've never got praise for the jobs I've done. Not that I've been witness to anyway.

"Did you see the way YNN was able to take down the vamp with ease earlier?" Sam questioned his brother. "I know for a while that's all she was hunting but I didn't know that she was on expert level mode."

Dean chuckled at his brother's comment. "Dude, she's a force to be reckoned with, that's for sure. Never seen someone almost take down almost a whole hoard of vampires that quickly the way she did today. She knows her stuff too. YNN had the answers we needed before you were able to open a single wiki page."

I couldn't help but let the smirk grow upon my face as I listened to their words. I'm not one to bask in praise but it is good to hear it every once in a while. But then the conversation took a turn I wasn't expecting and had me trying so hard to stifle the laughs that wanted to run free.

"Can't beat a girl like her. I mean, YN has the whole package deal, De. She's smart, strong, and beautiful as hell. How she ever got caught up in this life, I'll never know. And I won't pry it out of her if she doesn't want to tell." Sam says as he shifted in the bed making the frame creek with every movement.

I continued to play possum but had to bite my lip when Dean chimed in saying, "Yeah, well, I wouldn't mind getting to know her little better in every way, if catch my drift."

My eyes nearly popped open at his comment. But I was able to keep my rouse up enough to talk in a tone that read I was half-asleep. "Guys, I love y'all but I'm over here trying to sleep and you're over there trying to get in my pants by complimenting me. It's appreciated but... shhhhh..."

There was a moment of stunned silence between the brothers. "How long have you been listening?" Sam questioned.

"About the time y'all drunkenly fiddled with the key in the lock." I state as I turned over to finally look at Dean, who could now tell that I was never really asleep in the first place just by looking at my face.

"Damn, you're sneaky, you know that?" he asked and adjusted so he could see me better. "She's been awake this whole time, Sammy."

"Well, I guess you got to admit things you didn't want to admit without even knowing you were admitting them." Sam said and I knew he was playing the smartass card even if his tone didn't sound like it.

We all shared a laugh about it, and I knew that whatever this bond was I shared with the Winchesters was something special. I mean I knew it beforehand, but you can never beat what this is now. We might go our separate ways in the future, and nobody knows where time will lead us. But at least I will have moments like this to fall back on. I can't say that about anyone else and I you were to ask me; I don't want to.
