If she wasn't careful, she'll read herself dead. (Y/N) hadn't let up on the lore reading since we had gotten back from the last hunt a week ago. It was life it had become her life mission to read and retain all the information within the Men of Letters archives. She had been doing a damn good job of that too.

In the past week, she has read the entirety of a shelf with books about wendigos, vampires and werewolves. Not to mention she's also taking noted as if she was in school again. And here I thought Sam was the nerd. But oh no. Come to find out my girlfriend is a bigger nerd than my little brother.

(Y/N) had secluded herself in her own little bubble placed in the far corner of the library. Most of the time she didn't make a lick of noise. To tell you the truth the way she's been quiet scared me. For the past few years I have grown so used to the rowdy (Y/H/C) haired beauty who was up for anything and everything but lately she was silent as a fucking mouse and didn't want to do a whole lot of anything.

The past few nights I had to coach her to bed and even then, she would only sleep maybe two hours before getting back up and sneaking back into the library to continue her overhauled study session, nose buried in another damn book. I had finally come to realize just why she was doing all of this.

We had been on our way back to the bunker after a wendigo hunt out in Nevada. During this hunt she had been thrown into the cave wall, Sam broke his hand, and I got cut up quite a bit. Now Sammy and I hunted many before now but (Y/N)... it was her first one. She had done quite a bit of research before we headed out just like she always did but with the way we all got hurt some way, I don't think she thought she had done enough.

It wasn't her fault though. At least we all made it out of there alive but to her she should have known more about it and then maybe nobody would have gotten hurt which I knew wasn't possible. You'll always get hurt when hunting one of those things. I could see her rack her brains as I watched her through the rearview the entire drive back home. At first, I didn't know what about, but it slowly came into focus.

So now her she is, nose deep in another lore book. Hasn't properly eaten in three days. Bags under her eyes from not enough sleep. Not to mention she hasn't really spoken to either Sammy or I since we had gotten home.

I walked behind her quietly and gripped the book pulling out of her hand. "Dean give it back." She said as she reached for it.

"She speaks." I said throwing the book to the table on the other side of the library then sat down beside her. She tried to get up and retrieve the book, but I was quick to wrap my arms around her and pull the (Y/H/C) haired girl down into my lap. "Oh no you don't." I said. "It's time to give those amazing (Y/E/C) eyes a break from all that reading you've been doing."

(Y/N) didn't have the energy to fight back against my hold so she gave in quickly and gave up the urge to get the book that I had thrown across the room. She sighed and said, "I don't need a break." Before I could speak to tell her just how wrong she was, she yawned.

I let out a slight chuckle before saying "Sweetheart, I think your own body was telling you otherwise about not needing to rest for a bit." Kissing her cheek, I stood up but didn't let go of her once we were on our feet. "Come on let's get you to bed."

She didn't move and shook her head. "D, I'm serious. I don't need a break. It's just a yawn."

"Baby, you haven't slept but maybe eight hours all together the entire week. Nor have you eaten a decent meal in even longer." I said with a sigh.

"I promise I'm fine." She stated.

I sighed once more before stating "But you're not, (Y/N). You're really not. You've been stuffing your face in books and your brain with useless knowledge."

"It's not useless."

"It is for now. Babe come on. Just sleep for a little while and eat a proper dinner with me later. We're not even looking for a case right now." I said as I turned her to face me. "And if you keep it up, I'll have no choice in benching you from going on the next one we do have."

Her eyes went wide. "You wouldn't."

Nodding I said "I would. Actually, I would even go as far as benching myself as well just so I could make sure you wouldn't go back to being knee deep in a sea of books while we were gone."

If she didn't believe me now, she'd just be kidding herself. (Y/N) knew I never cared for staying behind when there was a case. But I cared too deeply for her personal wellbeing to let her run herself into the ground with endless research. So, if it took me benching myself to stay with her to make sure she got the proper rest then so be it.

"Dean..." she started but I interrupted her before she could get the chance to protest.

"No, babe. I'm being completely serious. Okay? It's time to give the lore books a break for a while. A long while. Get some rest and eat more than a simple sandwich here and there."

(Y/N) sighed in defeat. "Okay. Fine. I'll stop for a while."

I smiled and took her hand in mine. She then let out another yawn. "Come on sleepy head. Let's get you in bed." I said as I led her down the hall to our shared bedroom.
