TY'S POV (still)

I sit with my feet on the coffee table, watching my girlfriend silently.

She sits up suddenly.

"Bathroom's over there." Amanda says, nodding to the door right off the kitchen.

Megan walks into it.

She slams the door.

I flinch.

After almost an hour, she comes out. Her hair is in a messy bun.

She rummages around the cabinets until she finds a bottle of advil. She downs some and drinks an entire glass of water, and then she sits back down in the spot she was sleeping and puts her feet on the table.

"I'm coming with you." she mumbles.

"What?" I ask.

"I'm coming with you."

I frown. "Where?"

I mentally cross my fingers, hoping she doesn't remember last night.

"To the military."

Jett, Amanda, and Trace look at me.

I can tell Megan is upset.

Actually, upset is an understatment.

Heartbroken is a better word.

I cringe.

She blinks, and then reads me like a book.

"You jackass." she mutters.

"Megan-"

"Don't fucking talk to me."

She gets up and storms out of the apartment.

I sigh and get up and chase after her.

She sprints down the hallway.

"Megan!" I call out, chasing after her. "At least give me a chance to explain!"

She whips around, tears burning down her cheeks.

"You're such a dick!" She says. "You seriously think lying about something like that is okay?" she asks.
"Of course not, but what did you expect me to do?"

"Pick me up! Yell at me! Even try to seduce me! I don't fucking care! Anything but that! How dare you!"

I sigh. "It was almost four in the morning, I had just drove twelve hours. I walked in and you almost got raped. I just wanted you out of there. I didn't think you were going to remember it!"

"So that makes it okay? To lie about something that big just because I wasn't going to remember it."

"I never said it was okay." I say.

"You didn't have to."

She turns around and gets on the elevator.

"Don't follow me." she says.

I sigh and get on the elevator anyways.

"Ty, look," she starts, pissed off. "I love you to death but we always have something going on! I can't handle it! We need to break up. Maybe not forever, I don't know, but for right now, I can't do this. I need to go."

"Megan." I whisper as the elevator doors open.

She shakes her head and walks away.

I walk off the elevator and watch her go.

"Wait!" I call, chasing after her.

She turns around. She looks heartbroken and is fighting her own tears.

"How are you going to get home?" I whisper. "I can drive you..."

"I'm calling Ben." she walks out.
"Megan, your phone is dead." I whisper. "You don't have any money."

She shuts her eyes.

"I'll figure something out."

"Megan." I dig my phone out of my pocket and hold it out to her. "Keep it."

"Ty, no."

She shakes her head.

"Then at least call your Dad."

she shuts her eyes and takes my phone.

Silently, she dials him.

She talks to him for a minute, and then she hangs up and hands me my phone.

"Megan." I say. "Is there anything I can do to change your mind?"

She stares at me for a long time, and then shakes her head and walks away.

Don't kill me. Katie will kill her. Trust me.
