Home is with you

Prompt post-season 2 episode 3 tk returns from the wildfires  and surprises Carlos

they hadn't seen each other in two weeks - the wildfires had been harder to put out than expected and with the fires and the base station  being in the woods  he could get a few minutes of decent cell service to have a phone call with his boyfriend  going into the wildfires they didn't know how long they would be out there they had gotten no date they were playing it by ear - with every day that passed tk missed his boyfriend more than ever and all he wanted was to be wrapped in his arms

they had gotten the wildfires 90% contained meaning the fire stations there could handle the rest it was time for everyone to report back to their stations the whole team slept on the way back to the station after countless hours on their feet with little sleep everyone needed it but tk couldn't sleep .. not without carlos no matter how exhausted his body was knowing that he was gonna be in his boyfriends arms just made it all worth it

when the truck pulled into the station everyone got out and headed to the showers  to wash off all the ash and soot that had built up
tk relaxed under the shower head his muscles were so weak his body felt like jelly if he didn't have his hands on the shower tiles he would have fallen over

he headed out after saying goodbye to his team and his dad he ended up just stopping and picking up some pizza and some red roses for Carlos when he got to Carlos's doorstep he used his key to get in the house looked empty almost like Carlos hadn't been home at all

when Carlos got home from his shift he got out of his car and noticed a faint light was on in the house did he leave a light on when he left? when he checked his phone no messages from tk he walked up the front steps and opened the door to see tk in some sweatpants and one of his hoodies  beside a pizza box and some red roses "No way " Carlos smiled dropping his bag and running to tk

he picked tk up spinning  him around "Oh god I missed you so much .." Carlos smiled as tk wrapped his legs around Carlos's tk leaned down for another kiss "Why didn't  you tell me you were back I would have come and picked you up ." Carlos said sitting tk on the counter "I wanted to surprise you plus you had a shift ." tk said running his hands through Carlos's curls "You're more important ." Carlos smiled tracing tks face "god you look exhausted .." Carlos said "I missed you ." tk hummed "I too baby cmon let's get you into bed ." carlos said picking tk up off the counter tk wrapped his legs around Carlos resting his head on Carlos's shoulder

carlos carried tk upstairs placing him in bed "i got you roses .." tk hummed " i saw thank you baby that was very sweet ."  carlos chuckled as he got tk under the covers "get some rest my love ." carlos told tk as he placed a kiss on his forehead "wait papi- i want you .." "i dont want to sleep - without you ." tk said holding carlos's hand "i know bubby just let  daddy get changed and ill join you in bed .."

tk mumbled watching as carlos gt undressed down to his boxers to join tk in bed tk scooted over to carlos's bare chest resting his head on it  making little patterns with his hands on carlos's chest

"I dont wanna be away fro you that long every again .." carlos mentioned

"i think you should move in ."  carlos said looking down at tk "i dont know it might be a little hard to sleep since you snore ." tk teased "i do not !" carlos  rebuttled "i would love to move in ." tk smiled
