The air in Tsunade's office felt thick with anticipation as Sakura stood next to Kakashi. Sakura could sense her Shishō's gaze on her, and she wondered if she had managed to hide the traces of her chaotic thoughts. They had just returned from their mission, successful in their endeavors, and now the time had come to report to the Hokage. Sakura struggled to maintain her typical composure, underneath the underneath she was panicking, hoping, & praying, that Tsunade wouldn't kill Kakashi if she did somehow know about them...

Kakashi started detailing the mission, his words measured and concise. Sakura couldn't help but glance at Tsunade periodically, trying to gauge the Hokage's reactions. As Kakashi neared the end of the report, the Hokages apprentice felt a nudge of hope. Maybe, just maybe, they had managed to keep their newfound connection hidden. However, Tsunade's gaze continued to linger on them a moment longer than usual, a knowing glint in her eyes. What if her Shishō confronted her right then & there?

Tsunade then dismissed Sakura, and she couldn't help but feel a knot tightening in her stomach. Sakura took a deep breath, knowing that whatever happened next was beyond her control. Sakura tried to keep her composure as she left Tsunade's office, her steps deliberate but every ounce of her being anxious. The heavy wooden door closed behind her, leaving Kakashi alone with Tsunade.
Just before the door had closed behind her, Kakashi exchanged a brief glance with Sakura, and she had offered him an encouraging smile before stepping into the hallway.
