"Mommy's always in my heart." Nova sniffled and sank back into my chest.

"That's right baby." I smiled and kissed her forehead.

I wrapped my arms tighter around her and rested my chin onto her head.

"I have some great news for you." I smiled as I unwrapped my arms from her.

"Ooo what is it?!" She grinned with the dried tears still coating her cheeks, totally forgetting she was sad.

"Rocco's finally awake!" I exclaimed with a smile.

She gasped with a large smile escaping onto her lips.

"I wanna see him! Let's go!" She exclaimed and stood up from my lap.

She tugged my hands for me to stand up but I gave her a cheeky smile.

"Fine!" She huffed and wrapped her arms around me and kissed my cheeks.

"Let's go princess." I smiled and stood up to which she immediately grabbed my fingers, holding it tightly.

She was still very much terrified but she's stubborn, she won't admit that.

I could feel her hand tighten against my fingers everytime I would walk.

Almost as if she was scared that I'd leave.

I breathed out and crouched down, picking her up into my arms.

"I'm right here baby. No one's gonna take you from me okay?" I reassured her.

"Mhm" she hummed and rested her head on my shoulder.

I walked down the stairs to see Roman sat on the barstools, having his head in his hands.

"Roman? No es tu culpa. Deja de culparte a ti mismo." I muttered as I readjusted Nova in my arms.

(Roman? It's not your fault. Stop blaming yourself.)

"Lorenzo, mírala! ¡Está absolutamente aterrorizada por mi culpa!".  He exclaimed as he lifted his head from his hands.

("Lorenzo, look at her! She's absolutely terrified because of me!" )

"Ella va a estar bien, yo como su padre me aseguraré de eso." I retorted.

("She's going to be fine, as her father I will make sure of that." )

"Go take a shower and come to the hospital, Rocco's awake." I said and grabbed my car keys from the counter.

"I'll be there soon." I heard Roman say as I walked out the door.

I kissed Nova's cheek and placed her into her car-seat, buckling her up.

As we drove I kept monitoring her through the rear view mirror.

"Dad?" Nova called out, to which I glanced at her.

"Yes princess?" I asked as I turned into the hospital parking lot.

"Can we get Rocco those balloons?!" She grinned as she pointed to the little gift shop right outside the hospital.

"Are you sure they're not for you?" I laughed and got out of the car, un-buckling her.

"I'm not sick silly!" She giggled and hopped out.

...

I held Nova's hand as she held the 3 balloons she chose for Rocco.

It all had completely different writings on.

'You beat cancer!'

'Diabetes isn't that bad'

'Rest in peace'

Yup.

I told her to choose what ever one she wanted.

And she chose those.

"Do you think he'll like them?" She grinned as she tugged my hand.

"I think he'll love it." I smirked at her.

"Me too!" She exclaimed with a smile.

We reached Rocco's ward and opened the door.

Nova squealed in happiness and immediately ran over to Rocco.

"Rocco!" She shouted and tried to hop on his bed.

"Nova!" He returned her excitement.

"Wait I'll help you." I said and held her in my arms so she could kiss his cheek.

I placed her onto the open space next to Rocco.

"Look I got you balloons!" She smiled and tugged the ribbon string of the balloons.

"I beat fucking cancer?" Rocco asked with his brows furrowed.

"She got you the Diabetes balloon!" I heard Julius laugh hysterically behind me.

"You beat cancer?" Nova asked with a frown.

"I'm asking the same thing." Rocco muttered.

"I like this balloon." Nova muttered and tugged the balloons that had the writing 'rest in peace' on.

"I'm not de-" I cut Rocco off before he could finish.

"Ella no sabe leer a Rocco." I muttered with a laugh.

(She can't read Rocco.)
