CHAPTER TWENTY:
❝︎No Different From You❞︎

RAELYNN WAS UTTERLY SURPRISED AT HOW THE CONVERSATION WITH HER SISTER WENT. She had expected Aurelia to feel betrayed, upset, but when Aurelia hugged her and told her that it wasn't her fault, Raelynn couldn't help but smile and relish in her sisters embrace. It had been so long since they'd been together, and now that they were reunited, it seemed like their bond was only going to grow stronger. Aurelia had left Raelynn to go and explore the gigantic building, telling her sister that she would be back later and that they could meet up for dinner. Raelynn had agreed and watched her leave with a smile.

Raelynn made her way through the facility, smiling at Liliya and Steve as they passed her, both of them giving her a smile in return before heading to train the agents. Raelynn made her way down to the training room, a gentle smile lingering on her lips as she watched Willow and Natasha train with one another. Willow let out a yell of excitement when she managed to get Natasha on the ground.

"I let you win," Natasha told her.

"Oh, sure." Willow nodded. "You can't admit defeat, and that's okay. I'll make up for it by running around and telling everyone that I beat the Natasha Romanoff." Natasha rolled her eyes and Willow couldn't help but laugh at her annoyance.

"I can be a witness." Raelynn made her appearance known, stepping fully into the room as she offered the couple a smile.

Willow pointed at her, looking at Natasha with a wide smile. "Oh, you're so screwed now. This is the revenge I've been waiting for."

Natasha shook her head, trying to hide the amusement that pulled at the corner of her lips. "Revenge for what?"

"Revenge for beating me multiple fucking times." Willow shrugged. Natasha just rose an eyebrow. "I really don't have anything else against you."

"Right." Natasha hummed. "Well, I am going to go start defending myself before you can start such a horrendous rumor." Natasha gave Willow a kiss and began to walk away. Willow scoffed and just shook her head, but there was amusement dancing in her eyes. Natasha nodded towards Raelynn as she walked by before leaving and Raelynn made her way over to Willow.

Willow sat down on one of the benches, reaching over to grab her water bottle and taking a swig of it before putting the cap back on and sitting it down on the ground. Willow sat there, leaning her arms on her knees as she looked at Raelynn, allowing herself to catch her breath. Raelynn walked towards her, taking a seat beside of her on the bench and sitting there for a moment.

     "You get your sister back?"

Raelynn nodded her head. "Yeah, I did. She's somewhere around here. She wanted to walk around the compound."

Willow smiled at her. "See, I told you everything was going to work out." Willow took notice of the worry that crossed her face. "What is it?"

Raelynn sighed and shook her head. "I just. . . what if it's not gone? What if only disappeared momentarily? What if it comes back?"

"Well, if it does, we know what to expect and we know how to handle it." Willow assured her.

"I don't want to put her in harms way." Raelynn whispered. "She's already been through so much."

Willow placed a hand on her shoulder. "Raelynn, don't worry about it until you have a real reason to worry about it."

"What if. . . what if there's a way to control it." Raelynn mumbled, eyebrows furrowing as she thought about it. Willow looked at her confused. Raelynn elaborated. "What if there's a way to make the creature come out while I'm awake, a way to control who it attacks? I can manipulate it, use it for good."

"As someone who's speaking from experience, it's going to be difficult." Willow told her, her hand coming up to the necklace that was placed around her neck, the necklace that kept the alien inside of her contained.

     "But not impossible," Raelynn noted.

"No. Not impossible, but close enough. Rae, I just don't think it's a good idea."

Raelynn stood up. "Why not? I could be useful. I wouldn't just be another person that you watch over. I could fight the battles you guys fight."

Willow stood up as well, standing in front of her. "Raelynn, we're trained agents. We have hand-to-hand combat skills. We know how to use a gun or a knife. You have no knowledge of any of that whatsoever."

     "Then train me." Raelynn propsed.

Willow placed her hands on her hips, closing her eyes. "Raelynn, I―︎"

"I'm no different from you." Raelynn argued. "You came in here with no knowledge of anything, just like me. The only thing you had was a monster attached to you that killed everyone when you lost control. I'm no different. You learned how to control it, you learned how to fight and how to be part of the Avengers. Why can't I do the same?"

Willow stood there for a moment, thinking about what she said. She knew that Raelynn was right. Not too long ago, Willow had been placed in the same position as Raelynn and she'd fought hard to move past everything that happened. However, it still happened. It was only fair that they gave Raelynn a shot, just as they gave Willow a shot, or anyone else in this facility. If you asked her, the only one that didn't need to make up for their mistakes was Steve Rogers, but even he believed he'd made a mistake leaving his sister behind and being part of the Avengers was how he coped with it.

Finally, Willow nodded. "Alright. Fine. You have to talk to Steve first."

     "Why Steve?"

"Because, Tony may own everything here, but Steve is the leader. If he agrees, I'll train you myself, and maybe I can convince Natasha to do it too."

"Why would you need to convince her?" Raelynn frowned.

"Because, Natasha hates training new people." Willow answered. "Even though that's literally part of her job. That woman is so dramatic sometimes I swear." Willow rolled her eyes and Raelynn chuckled before nodding in understanding.

"Alright, I'll talk to Steve. I'll let you know what he says by the end of the day."

"I'll be in my room when you need me." Willow told her before turning on her heel and walking out of the room.
