NICOLE

Prologue

Ayesha Lerman sat out on the porch watching her 12 year old brother in law, Gabe and her daughter, Nicole playing tag. She smiled thinking about how perfect her life has been ever since she found her mate and had her baby girl.

The clouds began to darken indicating that rain was coming. "Okay come inside" she said to the two kids. They moaned and groaned but eventually made their way into the house.

"Ayesha, why did you call us inside? I mean it hasn't even started raining yet." Gabe complained as he was already getting bored and

"Well, beca-" Ayesha is cut off by her mate, Mike swinging open the kitchen door with a panicked look on his face.

"They're coming, Ayesha they're coming" Mike said to his mate knowing that the day they've been dreading is upon them. "The hunters, they were seen lurking around the borders and they're not alone, they're with the Jeorg Moon Pack" Mike said angrily, thinking about how the JM pack could turn against their own kind, rival pack or not.

Nicole looked at both her parents, not understanding what was happening and why they looked so scared.

Mike started pacing while Ayesha ran to the bedroom. Mike looked at his daughter and suddenly realised why the Jeorg Moon Pack were working with the hunters, they wanted Nicole.

'Ayesha, we need to get Nicole out of here now!' He mind linked her.

Ayesha came running out the room with tears streaming down her face "No, Mike, no" she said over and over while shaking her head "She's my baby! I won't let them take her away."

Mike took his mate into his arms and started comforting her.

Gabe suddenly realised what was going on. Nicole was a special kind of wolf, she not only got her dad's werewolf genes but she inherited her mom's witch genes as well which makes her a hybrid which was something that's never happened before, he remembered his brother explaining it to him once.

Children always got their father's wolf genes if it so happens that the child's mother isn't a wolf but another supernatural being.

Ayesha wiped her face and took off the locket from around her neck, "Come here baby" she said to Nicole.

Nicole went to her mother, still not understanding what was going on. Ayesha put the locket around Nicole's neck and started chanting in a foreign language. "Meh vaspimos dara kwada, mesh vaspios lo die chè"

Mike stared at his mate in awe, still not used to her extraordinary power. A light formed on the lockett and soon it was gone.

"Listen to me Nicole, don't you ever take this locket off okay, because if you do bad people will come for you baby, this lockett helps hide your hybrid scent and control your magic. Do you understand me Nicole ?"

Nicole nodded her head, "I want you to run as far and as fast as you can from here okay, mommy loves you so much baby." Ayesha's voice cracked and she looked away from her baby girl's innocent green eyes.

A shot was heard in the distance and Mike and Gabe instantly shifted into their brown wolves. Mike trotted over to his daughter and bent down so she could climb on his back, soon the three of them ran off into the woods.

Ayesha sobbed uncontrollably as she watched her baby girl leave. She then remembered that in order for Nicole to truly be safe she had to forget everything as anyone could force her tell them anything they wanted to know. Ayesha soon began preparing to perform an amnesia spell.

In the woods Gabe and Mike let Nicole go and Mike mind linked her 'I'll always love you princess, now you have to run okay.'

Nicole nods while trying to keep her tears in "I love you daddy and you Gabe" she said.

Gabe ran after her and she pets him 'We'll come and find you someday okay, uncle Gabe loves you kiddo.' Gabe mind linked to her, she nodded and soon Nicole was on her own and running further and further from home.

After many hours of running Nicole started feeling dizzy and heard the words "Forgetus everything" her head hurt so badly and she fell to the ground unconscious.

Beta Noah from the Moon Pack and his mate Viv were running together in the forest when they suddenly saw a little girl falling to the ground.

They both shifted back to their human forms and quickly put on the clothes that they had tied around their legs.

"She's a human" Viv said to her mate after kneeling down and catching a wiff of the little girl's scent.

Beta Noah looked down at the little girl and wondered to himself what a human girl was doing so deep in the forest.

"Let's get her to the pack doctor" he said to Viv and they made the 2 hour trek back to the pack house.

Nicole's eyes flutter open and sees the white walls and starts looking around the foreign room.

"Oh, you are awake." A man in a white coat said to her and she nodded her head, minutes later the door opened and Beta Noah and Viv walked in and smiled at her.

"Hi baby, what's your name?" Viv asked her with a warm smile on her face,
"Nicole" she replied shyly.
"Where are your parents?" Beta Noah asked her.
Nicole thought long and hard but came up empty.

"I- I don't know, I only remember that my name is Nicole, I'm six years old, my birthday is on the 27th of August and that I should never take this off" Nicole answered pointing to the locket around her neck.

The doctor nodded "Hmm, it seems like she has amnesia. I'll have to contact the human authorities and have them deal with this situation, maybe they'll put her in foster care."

Viv looked at the beautiful little girl and couldn't help but wonder what it will feel like to have a girl, she only had her son, Jake and couldn 't fall pregnant again due to a rogue attack that occured over a year ago.

Beta Noah seemed to notice what his mate was thinking, he looked at her and nodded. Viv looked at the doctor with a smile and said "No, we'll take her in."

And that's how the story of Nicole began...
