A night unexpected (Aesop Sharp X Reader)

Part II Chapter 7- Our Ball

"What? Why are you looking at me like that?"

He slowly but deliberately took your wrist into his hand, kissing the edge of your palm before pressing his cufflink against the end of your sleeve.
You gasped as you saw a small trail of magic swirl around his arm, then you saw the dark green embroidery appear on his lapels and vest as the buttons turned into gold, completely matching your ensemble.

"Wha!? How did you-"

He cut you off as he leaned in to kiss your cheek and whispered into your ear.

"I promised I would match with you." His voice sent a shiver down your spine and you felt your face heat up.

"Oh dear." Mirabel giggled as she witnessed your interaction- you completely forgot she was there and suddenly your face got even hotter.

"Hello again Mirabel, looking beautiful as always." He bowed to her as you tried to compose yourself. "Do you mind if I steal this gorgeous lady from you?"

"Not at all" she winked before waving and turning back around to greet the students.

He took your hand and guided you through the crowd, you followed him in a daze and had to lean into him for balance when he finally stopped.
"I've missed you." He confessed before kissing you tenderly. Your mind began to swirl from his affection.

"Wha- where is all this coming from?"

"What do you mean?"

"I-I don't know! I just- I don't know..." He chuckled quietly from your confusion and leaned in to kiss your forehead.

"Lutea! Look who I brought!"

You turned to the sound of Natty's voice to be greeted with Poppy beside her.
"Poppy!"
As she came you both embraced and you squeezed her tightly. When you released her you looked at her dress- it was pleated with a pale yellow color. Her collar was laced with white and her hair sported white flower clips.

"Oh Poppy! What are you doing here?!"

"Natty sent me an owl- I missed you last year but I made sure to come this year!" You watched her gaze shift from you to Sharp and you could see her smirk form.
"She's also updated me on a few things..." Both her and Natty giggled, and once again, your face began to heat up.

"Miss Sweeting, a pleasure seeing you again."

She made her way around you and curtsied.

"Nice to see you as well, Professor Sharp, you're taking care of Lutea correct?"

"Always...If you'd like to catch up, I don't mind letting you borrow her for a moment." Poppy looked at you with puppy eyes and you smiled.

"I MUST catch up with you!" You answered her.

The three of you began to walk off. You turned back to see him watching you and you smiled at him, he gave you a wink and you began to wonder if your face was ever going to cool down.

"Ah, so you're the reason she went with green?"

Theodore approached Sharp as he was watching you dance with the girls. His jaw clenched but he maintained his composure.

"The color choice was hers, I just made sure to match."

"I told her red would suit her better but she didn't seem to appreciate my opinion."

"Really? I can't imagine why."

Theodore chuckled before taking a breath. His face went from amused to somber.
