"If... If you don't like it, I can change it however you like-"

"I love it."

He stopped himself and turned his gaze back at you.

"I love it...this is the nicest thing anyone has ever done for me. Not to mention...it's beautiful. So beautiful."

You stood up on your toes and kissed him earnestly- breathing him in while he kissed you back and placed his hands gently on yours as you pulled away.

"Thank you. I mean it."

You carefully removed the necklace from it'ls' home and placed the box on his desk. You turned around while undoing the clasp and leaned your head down to reveal your neck to him.

"Will you put it on me? Please?"

You heard him shift forward to gingerly take the chain from your fingers and lower the jewelry onto you. The chain felt cold on your skin compared to his warm fingers that brushed against you softly. You felt goosebumps form as he rubbed his thumb onto the clasp to confirm the connection.
You closed your eyes and breathed in deeply when you felt him lean in and kiss the part of your neck that was exposed. His hands trail from your shoulders, down your arms and finally to your hands as he continued to kiss your skin intimately.

Your fingers laced into each other's, the rough patches from his work still felt tender and warm when he touched you. His hot breath on your back sent shivers down your spine. His body against yours almost made you forget where you were.

"I'm glad you like it..." he whispered to you as he broke the silence.

"I love it... I'll wear it every day."

"You don't have to do that-"

"I want to..."

You turned around and wrapped your arms around his neck before kissing him again, this time lingering a few moments longer than usual, taking in the stubble against your skin and his scent that fills you with warmth.

When you went to bed with him that night you made love as usual- but the way he touched you was different. His fingers traced on your skin like he was memorizing each curve. The way his hand pushed on the small of your back made it seem like he didn't want to let you go. The way his lips kissed you carefully was like a dream as you melted into his arms.

As he spooned you - your hands reached up to feel the necklace that now found its' new home around your neck. You closed your eyes and smiled; slowly drifting off and listening to his deep breathing in the dark.

"Lutea my dear! What brings you in today?"

Augustus was chipper as usual welcoming you into the store. His mustache never changed and you swore the man didn't age.

"Well, Mr. Hill, it's about time to find a new dress for the upcoming Yule ball!"

"Oh my, yes! An excuse to shop is always a good excuse. Come! What were you thinking?"

You both gushed over his new inventory and patterns before you noticed a familiar and unwelcome face walk in.

"Ah, Miss Iram, fancy seeing you here."

"Mr. Salix..." You greeted him but did not bother to give him a smile. "Following me around?"

"Don't be vain. Not everything is about you...I'm actually here to see Mr. Hill."

"Yes, Mr. Salix! I have your order, right this way...Lutea dear, go ahead and look through my inventory, I'll be right back!"

You nodded and watched him lead Theodore to his counter. When he made eye contact with you, you scoffed and rolled your eyes before bringing your attention back to the cloths in front of you.
