~ "Is that so?" ~ Part 18

You still didn't join back Antique after that night but you did keep an eye on the Cafè outside of the place. Normally, you'd climb a tree and fall asleep until you fell out of it or until Kaneki wakes you up.

And that's exactly what you did today, you climbed a tree and waited for Kaneki to come out. The only thing that changed was you're now back to being close with Nishio again as he had started working for Antique. He tried to persuade you, but you just carried on refusing and eventually walked off.

It started pouring down and you frown getting complete soaked. You notice Kaneki under you, looking up at the tree you were laying on holding back a laugh making you turn away from him crossing your arms

"Get down here so you can get under the umbrella!" He shouts up

"You're laughing at me." You grumble while coming down and under the umbrella. Kaneki now looks down to you with a smile

"Because there is a leaf in your hair." He states taking out the leaf and continuing to walk, you following him and staying under the umbrella as your face heats up slightly. Kaneki and you both stop instantly. You look around to see Hinami.

"Hinami!" You shout and you and Kaneki both jump over the bars. You knelt down along with Kaneki.

"What the matter?" Kaneki questions

"It's mama! You gotta help her." Hinami cries into your chest

"What? Where is she?" You question

"Let's go." Kaneki demands as you both start sprinting down the street. You make it to the place to see that a Dove has pulled out her own Husbands Kagune.

"Mama!" Hinami cries but Kaneki pulls her behind a wall and tells her to be quiet. You were about to run into action but hands wrap around your waist and mouth stopping you and pulling you behind the wall. You try break free of Kaneki's grip but he doesn't let go. Your eyes widened as the older Dove smashed her husbands Kagune into her, killing her instantly.

You were let into Antique and sat next to Nishio on the sofa. The other people in the room such as Kaneki, Yoshimura, Yomo, Enji, Roma and Kaya. Touka walked into the room while the room was quiet

"Oh, hey. What's up?" Touka questions as you stay looking at the ground

"Welcome back. Feeling better?" Yoshimura greets

"Much better thanks. I'm sorry for missing work." Touka apologises

"I understand." Yoshimura mumbles

"So what's with all the doom and gloom?" Touka questions

"Well earlier today...investigators found Ryouko...she didn't make it out alive." Yoshimura explains and Touka's eyes widen and she immediately punches a wall.

"God damn it. And Hinami? Please don't tell me they got her to." Touka almost begs for an answer

"No, she's fine. She's sleeping in the next room." Yoshimura informs

"They didn't see her face, did they? I can't believe this. I didn't think things could get any worse." Touka cries after nobody answers
