Author's pov:

The atmosphere inside Yusuf's private plane was serene as Layla and Yusuf embarked on their journey back to Turkey from Paris. Layla, sitting beside Yusuf, was engrossed in her book, captivated by the words that painted vivid images in her mind. Her eyes followed the lines on the pages as the world outside the plane window passed by in a blur.

On the other side, Yusuf was focused on his laptop, diligently attending to his work even during the flight. The hum of the engines provided a soothing backdrop to their quiet activities.

------------------

Layla's yawn broke the silence, signaling her exhaustion from reading for quite some time. Yusuf, attentive to her needs, suggested, "You seem tired; why don't you go to sleep?"

Layla responded, a hint of determination in her voice, "No, I can't afford to sleep. I'll be back at the office from tomorrow, and I won't have time. Besides, this is the last chapter."

Yusuf paused for a moment, gazing at Layla with a mix of surprise and admiration. Then, he closed his laptop and gently reached for the book Layla was reading. Layla watched him curiously, unsure of what he was up to, as Yusuf turned his attention to the book.

With a subtle motion, Yusuf gestured for Layla to rest her head on his shoulder. She looked at him, a mixture of surprise and curiosity in her eyes, as she didn't quite understand his intention.

"Apna sar meray kandhon par rakho. Mai tumhe parh deta hoon novel," Yusuf said softly, his voice filled with warmth.

A smile crept onto Layla's lips as she realized what he was offering. Gratefully, she leaned her head onto his shoulder, her eyes fixed on the book in her hands.

Yusuf began to read the novel aloud, his voice a soothing melody in the quiet cabin of the plane. Layla closed her eyes and allowed herself to be carried away by the story. The words flowed effortlessly from Yusuf's lips, and his reading was filled with emotion, bringing the characters and their adventures to life.

After Yusuf finished the last chapter of the novel, he looked over at Layla, who was fast asleep. Her hair had fallen gently across her face, and her expression was serene. A fond smile tugged at Yusuf's lips as he observed her in this peaceful state.

With utmost care, he reached out and brushed her hair back, revealing her face. Layla's features were delicate and relaxed in slumber, and Yusuf couldn't help but feel a rush of affection for her.

As he continued to watch her, a thought seemed to strike him. His heart swelled with a feeling he couldn't quite put into words.

Without disturbing Layla's rest, Yusuf slowly rose from his seat. He gently set her head against the chair's supportive cushion. He ensured she was comfortable and settled. Layla shifted her position, instinctively searching for a comfortable spot.

With great care, Yusuf moved to the seat behind Layla, his intentions clear. He reached for his phone, careful not to make any noise that might disturb her. As he unlocked his phone, he cast a fond look in Layla's direction, her peaceful slumber filling him with warmth.

Yusuf opened his phone and navigated to the voice recorder application. As he started listening to a particular voice recording, memories of that fateful day came flooding back. It was a day when someone had come to him with the truth, laying bare all the facts and revelations.

-Flashback-

Yusuf was in his office, the weight of the past year bearing down on him. It had been nearly a year since the tragic death of Bahar, and the police had closed the case, classifying it as a suicide. However, for Yusuf and his family, the wounds were still raw. The revelations made by Wajdan during that ill-fated press conference had left them shattered.
