Jake: It had surprised you how much he turned out to like the Originals. It felt like a crime when he told you he had finished Vampire Diaries but had never saw the Originals.
He admitted to liking Klaus' character while talking about the Vampire Diaries , and you had to intercept and tell him about the Originals.
During the first episode he simply was confused but intrigued anyways. However, by the third episode you couldn't get him to look away from the tv at all.
Even though both of you had finished the series, you still consistently rewatched it. There would be days where he would binge without you even. After the Originals ended you also forced him to watch Legacies which confused him because in his own words, "how do you make a spin-off of a spin off?"
Between the three series, The Originals was a favorite between the two of you. Whenever he had a long day and wanted to relax or vice versa the two of you would sit on the sofa, turn the tv on and automatically play your show.

Jay: You were wary of Jay watching Power with you, but it turns out he loved it. He caught you midway through Power: Book Three and when he began to ask so many questions because he was intrigued you restarted the series for him.
While Jay was fluent in English he wasn't exactly fluent in street slang and you were weary about teaching him what certain things meant. However when you continuously refused to explain it to him, he simply went to Google to learn more which prompted you to teach him yourself anyways.
You didn't want him to learn false information from Google and he was more than excited about you teaching him so he could understand the show. Admittedly he did ask less questions once you explained the big things.
His conspiracies were cute in the beginning and he tried to protect who was a traitor and who would die or go to jail. You found it cute how intrigued he was but you had to remind him that majority of the stuff that happened on the show was illegal and he shouldn't become too fascinated.
He simply laughed at you saying that he was intrigued but he wasn't an idiot.
