"Well...thank you, Garreth, I'm flattered."
"You're welcome! Just let me know if Sharp ever messes up, I'll have a stern talking with the young man!"
You giggled as he collected his bag. He gently grabbed your hand and kissed it lightly before giving you a wink.
"Professor Sharp is a lucky man. I'll see you next time!"
He released your hand before waving and walking out of the room himself.
You stood there in silence thinking about the day. Leaning back on a desk, you sighed and closed your eyes, trying to figure out the bad feeling in the pit of your stomach.
Was it because of Theodore? Could it be something else?
You finished putting away the ingredients before cleaning up and collecting your things. You almost apparated to his chambers but something made you pause. A part of you wanted to go check on Sharp, just to see where he was on patrol. No harm in saying goodnight again, right?
You made your way through the castle and finally found Sharp in front of the Defense Against The the Dark Arts classroom. You stayed hidden and peeked around the corner- surprised to find Theodore standing across from him.
"---how close can you be if you haven't fully showed her your truth, Aesop?"
"Our relationship is none of your business, Mr. Salix, and I suggest you refrain from speaking about her to me- less you want another physical altercation."
"You caught me by surprise-"
"Do you want to test that theory?"
You could see Theodore squeeze his fists and clench his jaw in response. Sharp crossed his arms and glared at him.
"...I'm not here for a fight, Professor Sharp, I'm here to make amends."
"I know you better than that."
"Oh do you? Then tell me, why am I here?"
"I don't know, but I do know you're too proud to make amends. If I catch you being the little brat that you are a second time, I will personally see to it that you will never bother us or anyone else again."
"Is that a threat?"
"It's a promise."
It was a bit hard to see but you thought you saw Theodore smirk in response.
"You're weak Aesop. You can't hide that from her forever."
As he started to walk away from Sharp you began to panic on being caught.
You tip-toed over to the undercroft door and used your wand to enter.
When you got down you took a breath and looked around. The last time you were in the undercroft was graduation- everything looked exactly the same.
"Hello, Lutea."
His greeting startled you in the dark.
"MERLIN Ominis, you scared me!"
"My apologies. I figured it was you, since there's no reason Sebastian would be here."
You casted some fire to light up the hanging lamps to see him better. He sat there in the middle of the room, one arm rested on his knee as he was facing your direction.
"I understand you don't technically need the light, but why are you sitting here in the dark on your own?"
Your footsteps echoed when you walked towards him, he smiled as you carefully lowered yourself to sit down and join him on the cold floor.
"I'm not sure...reminiscing I guess. I miss the simpler times here at Hogwarts...learning spells, scolding Sebastian, the three of us spending time down here away from everyone. I missed the days Anne was here too. I remember it like it was yesterday- yet at the same time it feels so far away now."
