Part II Chapter 5- Secrets

Start from the beginning

Theodore, without a word, bowed to the three of you and stepped out into the hallway to wait on Professor Weasley. You could feel your jaw clench knowing that he was in Hogwarts again.

"This makes no sense." You said to yourself.

"On the contrary, dear, it makes perfect sense." Hecat answered. "He was, and still is, a top Auror under the ministry. We had nothing on him- but he's here to save face. It's best to just ignore him where you can. Now, shall we prepare for the next class?"

"Yes ma'am..."

You turned away from the door to focus on Hecat and her plans but in the back of your mind you couldn't help but wonder if saving face was the only reason Theodore was back.

"- So Professor Sharp punched him in the face?!"

"Yes."

"That's BRILLIANT!" Garreth laughed loudly as you summarized to him the story behind Theodore. "Oh Merlin I wish I was there to see that. Then again, I'm older now, what's to stop you from punching me. Eh, Professor Sharp?"
Sharp rolled his eyes as Garreth nudged him with his elbow playfully.

"As much as you annoy me, Mr. Weasley, I don't believe I would ever punch you."

"Aww, that's the nicest thing you've ever said to me!"

"That being said, the night is young."

Both you and Garreth froze and laughed together after processing his comment.

"Was that a joke, Professor Sharp?"

"I'm not sure, was it?"

Garreth guffawed this time and slapped Sharp on the back, you couldn't help but notice Sharp hiding a smirk. After the laughter subsided Sharp casted a tempus charm and furrowed his eyebrows before putting his wand away.

"It's my turn to patrol tonight. Duty calls." He walked over to you to kiss you on the eye and smiled. "I'll see you in bed later, you don't need to wait up."

"You know I do anyways." He smiled at you before nodding to Garreth and dismissing himself from the classroom. When you looked over at Garreth you saw a dumbfounded expression on his face.

"What was that?!"

"What was what?"

"Are you and Sharp...Together?"

"Did...did you not know that before, Garreth? Everyone knows!"

"What?! I...What?"

You couldn't hold in your laugh from his obliviousness, Garreth was always one to not notice social cues but even you knew that your relationship with Sharp was obvious even before you were together.

"Damn..." he started. "He beat me to it!"

You paused your laughter and stared at him.

"What?"

"I was going to ask you to dinner eventually! Not sure when, but eventually! I should have guessed, you both seemed really close but I just assumed it's because you're friends with everyone."

"Wait...I'm sorry....dinner? With me?"

"Is it that shocking?"

"I mean...I didn't know...I wouldn't have guessed.."

"Honestly, Lutea, you're smart and beautiful. What's not to like?"

Your face warmed a bit from the compliment. Garreth always seemed to be in his own world and nice to everyone- you never thought he'd have an interest in romance, let alone with you.
