'What are your conditions?' Ezekiel asks me and I pull out my phone. He texted me to meet him at our local library which seemed weird, but I did. He brought coffee which I'm grateful for.
'I thought we could make them as we go' I say and he nods pulling out a piece of paper.
'Number 1: you should always tell me how you're feeling even if it hurts my feelings.
Number 2: we have to reach the end of the 30 day deal without any interruptions or breaks.
Number 3: you have to take each date seriously and letter writing is mandatory.
Number 4: we can't date or talk to other people especially ex's.
Number 5: gift giving at the end of every week' he says and I nod.
'Number 6: if at any given moment one party becomes attracted or falls in love with someone else the contract will be terminated immediately.
Number 7: If an unforeseen situation presents itself and we are unable to go on a date then a video call or phone call will suffice. I think that's about it' I say and he writes and he nods.
'I agree' he says sipping his coffee and looking around.
'I'll draw up the official contract and email it to you' I say and he smiles at me softly.
'Was yesterday a date?' he questions and I think for a moment.
'Yes, Netflix and chilling should be a date' I say and he nods.
'I thought about everything you said last night, and I know it's hard for you to deal with the things you're going through, but I didn't know it was that hard. You'll have to teach me how it works and explain things to me all the time' he says to me sincerely and I nod my head in agreement.
'Somethings I'm still learning' I say and he nods.
'We'll learn them together' he says to me and I start to imagine the image of this working, it's a blurry picture.
'Why the library?' I ask and he laughs.
'I wanted to find out what your favorite book is and genre plus I hard to return a few books my gran borrowed' he says and I raise my brow.
'You could have just asked me' I say to him and he looks around.
'Where's the fun in that?' he asks and I roll my eyes.
'Where's the fun in this?' I ask and he laughs as we leave the library and walk back to my house he doesn't come in because he has to go shopping with Cherry. I spend the rest of my day designing an outfit for my assignment until my phone rings after 2 rings I pick it up.
'Hey' Ezekiel says and I put my sewing machine off.
'Where did you get my number from?' I ask and he laughs on the other line my heart swells at the sound.
'I have my ways' he says sounding mysterious and I roll my eyes.
'I'll pick you up at 6pm we're going out' he says and I smile to myself.
'Where to?' I ask and he hums before answering.
'I can't tell you that but dress in something you can move in, alright' he says to me and I nod.
'Oh, and you better save this number as 'Love of my life' or else' he says playfully to me.
'The best you're going to get outta me is your birth name' I say and he chuckles.
'I'll see you at 6' he says and I hang up looking at the time to see it 4:56pm I finish up sewing and clean up the mess before showering. I pull out black jeans and a white tee with my vans I tie up my hair with a few loose strands dangling. I put on gloss and mascara then look at myself in the mirror I look different somehow. There's a slight glow on my face and I smile to myself. I head downstairs and wait for him it doesn't take long until he rings the doorbell and I open the door.
