Alpha Glitch's reply was both straightforward and laced with an undeniable truth. "I'm you, dumbass," he retorted.

Omega Fade's search was interrupted by an unsettling sensation. A wave of fear rippled through the citizens nearby, a disturbance that seemed unrelated to her objective. Omega Fade's intuition warned her that something was amiss. She honed in on the source of the fear, seeking to understand its origins.

As she observed, it became clear that the fear was a result of sudden chaos unfolding on a nearby rooftop. The sound of gunshots pierced the air, breaking the urban rhythm, and windows shattered, releasing small debris that fell to the ground below. The citizens were startled, but fortunately, no one was harmed.

Omega Fade faced a dilemma. The urgency of the situation on the rooftop conflicted with her ongoing quest to locate the Alpha intruders. She stood at a crossroads, torn between her instinct to investigate the disturbance and her relentless pursuit of her counterpart.

After contemplating for a brief moment, Omega Fade resolved to temporarily halt her pursuit of the intruders, recognizing that Phoenix and Glitch were already engaged in the search. Instead, she chose to delve into the chaos that unfolded on the rooftop. Forming a ball of haunting watcher in her hand ([E] ability), she released it skyward, a spectral sentinel aimed at unraveling the mystery.

The watcher ascended, and after a calculated interval, it descended, landing on a rooftop adjacent to the building where the gunshots had reverberated. The watcher's spectral senses came alive, detecting the presence of two figures locked in a fierce battle atop the distant rooftop. Fade's powers allowed her to witness this encounter through her supernatural lens, enabling her to glean insights from afar.

With a newfound sense of urgency, Fade wasted no time. She went racing towards the building where the skirmish was unfolding.

The Headquarters, Alpha Earth

The headquarters was unusually quiet that evening, with only a few agents present for dinner. Radiant criminals had kept most of the agents occupied with missions across various cities, leaving the headquarters relatively empty. Sage, Brimstone, and Killjoy sat at the dining table.

Amid the casual conversation, Brimstone directed a question towards Killjoy, his concern apparent. "Any news from Fade and Glitch?" he inquired, his gaze locking onto Killjoy, hoping for some reassuring information.

Killjoy's eyes shifted to her smartwatch. She shook her head slightly as she accessed the latest data. "No updates so far," she responded, confirming her findings with a glance at the watch's display. "But they've been separated for a while now."

Sage couldn't help but feel a twinge of worry for their comrades. She pondered the possible reasons behind their separation, and her thoughts drifted to the dynamics between Fade and Glitch. It was clear they were strangers, but it would be a pity if they can't get along. Perhaps they were simply splitting up to cover more ground.

Killjoy's analytical mind jumped in, suggesting a plausible explanation. "Maybe they're not getting along," she said, her tone thoughtful. "But that doesn't explain Glitch's elevated heart rate. Maybe he's being chased by someone?" Her brows furrowed in concern, a puzzle she was eager to unravel.

Brimstone's silence spoke volumes. Sending Glitch to monitor Fade was a strategic decision, driven by both care and curiosity. The sudden separation raised questions that needed answers, and he couldn't help but wonder if there was more to the story.
