Isamu POV
"I'm going to die." I lay face up to the sky on the grass, throwing my arm over my eyes. I had been constantly training for the past six weeks with no breaks and to put it mildly, it was exhausting.
"Get up." Pa stands above me with crossed arms, frown on his face. "You only got two weeks left so we better get back to work."
I groan and shakily use my hands to push my limp body into a sitting position.
"I don't know how much longer I can do this Pa." I force my legs to put weight on them as I stand up.
"Then you won't fight." Pa states plainly. I groan but readjust myself into a fighting stance. "No remember, this is all about using your mind and core to control your powers. If you don't do both at the same time then you won't be able to get into a nine tails state."
I nod and close my eyes, focusing on being a nine tails and how i look in the form. Over the past couple weeks, I've been able to get bits and pieces of the nine tails but never a full form and usually end up flying back from a blast of power.
I continue to keep my mind on the nine tails as I feel a slow build up of energy in my core.
"Good keep on holding and building that power." Pa praises me. I furrow my brows as I try to build the power in my core. "Good..." Pa continues to praises.
Then suddenly, I feel the power in my gut snap and my body is sent flying backwards through the air. My back hits hard on the grass and I groan in pain.
"Again." Pa sighs.
.....
"So I'm assuming training didn't go well again?" Dad asks, gesturing to the ice pack on my back as he sits on the couch.
"When has it ever gone well?" I grumble, leaning my head against the back of the couch. "I just can't get it and Pa just makes me work constantly with no breaks." I complain to the curly head.
"Ahh yes, Atsumu does tend to train like that." Dad chuckles. "Has always been like that in everything he does and thinks other people work like that too." He shakes his head with a soft smile on his face that is resigned for Pa.
"Did I hear my name?" Pa comes walking into the living room with a pout on his lips. "Omi are you talking about me again?" He asks as he stands next to the couch.
"Now why would I be talking about you, love?" Dad smirks when Pa's ears go a shade of pink at the nickname.
"W-Well just in case I'll be sitting right here." Pa sits next to Dad, putting him in the middle of us. Dad chuckles and opens his arm up, signaling for Pa to lean against him, which of course her does. Dad wraps his arm around Pa and kisses the crown of his head.
I smile internally at the picture they've made. I've always admired how the two of them go together, like they were fated to be together. Dad needs Pa to function and the other way around. It's always been like that and I can't think of them any other way.
.....
Today marks the two month mark that Ichika set for me to "prove" to her that I'm worthy of a complete nine tails form. I eventually was able to summon the power of the nine tails after constant training.
Pa's sitting next to me in the media room giving me the same instruction as last time to contact Ichika.
"Remember just call out to her, okay?" Pa reminds me for what seems like the thousandth time.
"Yes, yes, you've told me." I sigh. "I'll be fine." I try to reassure him but he continues to look at me with worry in his eyes. He lets out a sigh and nods to me, signaling I can go and talk to Ichika.
I close my eyes and begin to think about the kitsune woman. She's always been beautiful with flowing bright nine tails that could maybe even rival the sun. Just a moment later I'm back in the same dark room with her standing in front of me.
"So we meet again." She looks at me with a pointed look.
"Ichika it has been two months and I am here just like you told me to be." I hold eye contact with her, despite the how scary she looks.
She looks me up and down and sighs in exhaustion. "You've earned it kiddo." She smiles warmly at me while I just look at her in confusion.
"I've been watching your progress this entire time," She shrugs. "I also just enjoy putting on a scary face, I'm not actually mean like your Pa says. He just gets on my nerves and he knows it." She scoffs.
"Anyways I'm tired so goodbye and you're welcome!" She waves at me before the room goes pitch black before my confused face.
