what they do during your breakup--slipknot

Start from the beginning

Jim Root--

-takes you on a drive

-blares some glam rock that he used to play for you all the time

-he knows you need it, even if you don't

-it takes a few songs and a bit of fatherly wisdom (for the record, some of it does include "oh, you were waaaaay better looking than them" or "they literally didn't like Slipknot") for you to loosen up

-suddenly you're both belting Gloria Gaynor's "I Will Survive" at midnight, and for a moment, things are okay. You're sure that you can make it through this  (writer here: a full one shot for this is in the works <3)

-a couple days later, you're now in the groove of posting mildly passive aggressive things on your story, which includes you sitting in your room and playing "Dead Memories" on one of your dad's old Teles he gave you

-he walks in on this, understands the situation, and leaves you to it with a thumbs up

-he got the assignment. now he'll make petty jokes about your ex with you, too

Craig Jones--

-he'll listen to anything you tell him and is okay with it if you're not quite ready to come to him with some stuff

-once he hears that you got dumped over text, he is not pleased

-enraged, one might say

-regardless, he doesn't express his rage to you and saves that for his friends and wife. He needs to be there for you for now

-he'll make you meals to ensure you're eating, remind you to take your meds, bring you water, and buys you various self care items. He's not very well versed on skincare stuff, but he assumes that at least one item out of the horde of things he gets from the CVS has to be a good one

Shawn Crahan--

-when you first tell him, he gives you a hug and lets you know that your dad is here if you ever need him

-he gets worried when you're in your room for a long time, so he'll slide little things under your door. It varies between a chocolate bar, a piece of jewelry he thought you'd like, a sticky note with a doodle on it, or some stickers

-he wants to see if you'll take it

-even if you don't come out of your room, he gets super happy if he gets a thank you text

-your dog Dale is a big help, too

-sometimes your dad will push your door open for a sec to drop Dale off in your room so he can trot up to you and snuggle on your bed

Mick Thomson--

-god help your ex if your dad ever sees them in public

-he'll take you to a rage room

-will rant to stacy about being pissed at your ex and seeing you so hurt

-gets a bit confused and very sad if you cry to him, but he gets over himself and tells you to let it out

-is not quite sure what a "revenge era" is but he supports it

Corey Taylor--

-corey knows the emotional toll a breakup can take on someone, and considering for him at your age it led to an attempt on his life, he watches carefully over you to make sure you're safe

-like craig, he makes sure you're eating and getting enough water

-all the hugs you could need

-"Listen, I know you want to tell me that I don't understand, and that's fair, but I've been through it after breakups and I know what it's like to get your heart broken. I remember feeling like my ribcage just got gored open. It fucking sucks and it's overwhelming for a good amount of time. But I promise it gets better. It takes time and it's slow improvement, but it gets better eventually, and you just gotta stick it out until then, okay?"

...

hey! author here--i know i've been more inconsistent than i was at the beginning of the summer and that's because school is starting up again

as for what that means for my upload schedule, it'll probably be more inconsistent, but i'm taking decently easy classes this year so it shouldn't wreck me

(famous last words)

anyway, keep requesting and thank you all so so so much for reading!
