it was the little things that wukong says and does that made macaque more than thankful for his existence, grateful that he's able to love the sage and be loved by him all the same.

Looking around his room, his gaze lingered over few objects that are neatly placed by his night stand, the color of his bed sheets and his open wardrobe showcasing his sets of clothes. For some it wasn't noticeable, but there certainly was a pattern all across the things macaque owns.

The color purple.

Initially, macaque never had a favourite color. He never had a preference since he was a child. Mk before had asked him what his favourite color was when they were on training, and he blurted out black because he was getting impatient when he didn't answer for a few seconds.

But it all changed when he started dating wukong, again.

"mango, mango!" A cheery voice interrupted macaque's focus on meditation, blinking at the great sage widely grinning at him.

"Yes, peach?" He replied, standing up from his criss-cross position.

"I know your favourite color, mango" the sage exclaimed, and macaque couldn't help but snort, raising a brow at him.

"Oh?" He chirped. "Do tell me what it is, my idiotic peach." macaque replied, his lips quirked up on one side, his expression amused.

His favourite color, huh? macaque was sure he never had one, aside from the bluff he told mk a few trainings back then. He wondered what wukong think his favourite color was.

The sage could only grin brightly.

"It's purple!" He yelled. "It's purple, right?! purple! I'm pretty sure it's purple! right mango?" He said confidently with so much enthusiasm and excitement, grinning from ear to ear like a little kid who won a game.

The sight was absolutely endearing. macaque couldn't bring himself to tell wukong that he doesn't really have a preference for colors and instead gave him a similar grin, albeit not as bright as wukong's, and nodded. "That's right, it's purple! How did you know?" He asked, leaning over to gaze at his lover fondly.

wukong only gave his trademark smirk and made a shushing noise. "its a secret ofcourse, mango!"

Ever since then, macaque was unable to look at the color purple the same anymore. It wasn't a color that he'd look at and say 'oh, purple.'. It became a color that reminded him of wukong, and in his eyes it became something special just because wukong said it's his favourite color.

Of course wukong made everything special! He could feel his heart flutter just by the thought of the sage and couldn't help but grin when he heard footsteps approach him from behind, arms wrapping around his waist. "mango~" the voice sang by his ear, followed by a kiss on the cheek.

"Miss me?" wukong asked, grinning. macaque only gave a chuckle, crossing his arms. "As if." He said, but the way he's savoring the feeling of being in the sage's arms says otherwise.

"Aww, how mean, mango! And to think that I brought you a gift..." he heard wukong mumble, leaving him to blink and turn to face wukong, a curious look on his face. "A gift?"

"Ah, ah, ah!" wukong retracted his arms from macaque's waist to wave a finger in front of the warrior, a playful smile on his lips. "Close your eyes first, mango!" He told him, to which macaque grumbled at in protest but wukong only grinned.

A few seconds passed before something soft and warm and wukong was wrapped around him. Huh. It didn't take him long to guess it was a scarf, opening his eyes just in time when wukong tapped his shoulder.

"I knew it!" He heard wukong say with a cheer, "A purple scarf would suit my warrior the best!"

macaque could only smile fondly, adjusting the scarf.

man, he really loves the color purple.
