Grieving

The skies turned grey,
On that fateful day,
As the world stood still,
With nothing to say.

In your absence,
I mourn and we weep,
The pain too large,
Too deep to sleep.

Every breath,
Reminds me of your touch,
And the laughter we shared,
Now it all hurts too much.

But in the midst of sorrow,
And despair,
I find glimpses of light,
Breaking through the air.

Your love, still strong,
Still shining bright,
Guiding me through,
This difficult time.

Though your physical form,
May be long gone,
Your spirit and soul,
Live on and on.

And as I mourn the loss of you,
I know you're free from pain,
Somewhere in a brighter realm,
Our friendship will remain.
