Memories of Old & New

In forgotten rooms and dusty shelves,
Long corridors and secret places,
Old memories of our broken selves fade.

Vast holes remain where before there were faces,
Eternal love fails to nourish the phantoms of the past,
Yet you still remain, and that suffices,
Only hoping that this will last.

Unable to overcome these sacrifices,
Old lives die, and new ones begin,
In between the crossroads of space and time,
Tomorrow will bring it's own joys and sins.

As for today; I confess my crimes,
Never have I forgotten you,
And never shall I fail to recall your voice,
For in the matters of love, I have no choice.

You've become a phantom of my past,
One who lurks, and wanders into my future,
As new memories begin to form,
An old memory slowly arises,
And so do the rest of the phantoms,
Just like you've become a figment of my imagination.
