"Aunty babiess!" She squealed hugging them. "Yunno Lily the fact that your electric gate isn't working is one thing but keeping your front door unlocked like em white people is just crazy. Dave would have your head for moving like a mad woman like that. You got two kids inside with you. Why isn't the gate fixed yet?" She fussed at me like her brother would.
"It's been a busy few days, I forgot that's all."
"Okay but you ought to be more responsible than that. All it takes is one day for someone observant and brave enough to try to break into your home."
"Relax Danny, Imma call the guy to fix it tomorrow. Come help me in the kitchen."
"Uh uh friend, I ain't come here to do labor. I'm here to play with my niece and nephew. What's that y'all eating though?"
"It's nasty aunty." Reina dramatic self fussed pouting. Danny thought it was comical of course.
"Help yourself, I ate a little. Try to get your niece and nephew to do the same while I start on dinner. I want Dave to come home to a good meal."

By the time I was done slaving over the stove and tidying up the kitchen, I was warn out. Leaving Danny and the children downstairs I headed for a good shower upstairs.

As the song came through, I stripped out of my clothes and filled the tub. I decided on a warm bubble bath first. It will do me well.
Before long, I was getting dressed in the bedroom when I heard Reina scream and Dave's voice. I rushed to finish throw on my clothes even putting it the wrong side in the process as I raced downstairs to finally see my man.
The children were all over him as he picked them up in all smiles. I couldn't help the tears that filled my eyes.
"Nahh c'mon mamas not that crying shit."
"Lily too emotional to ever be gangster I sweat." Danny laughed. "We missed you for sure bro, bout time you came home."
Just like that it felt like a heavy weight was lifted off my shoulders. * *
