Love's First Sight

Goodbye New York/Hello London

It was an ordinary day in the small apartment of New York writer Anastasia Beckham. The writer was running around getting ready for the release of her two books. Anastasia would be doing a book signing downtown at the bookstore called "Oops.. I can Read." She didn't feel like dealing with the crowd, and traffic so she decided to schedule Lyft to the bookstore. After finally arriving at the store, she noticed the line was wrapped around the building. Lucy, the bookstore owner opened the door and yelled to the crowd " five minutes folks."

Anastasia looked at that stacks of her books to be sold and signed. One stack was called "What Do Animals Say?". It was made for kids. The other stack was for "A Place in the World", advice for life. Doors finally opened and the signing has began. People from every age came to see Anastasia Beckham and get her books. After hours of signing and meeting 1500 people, Ana finally decided to call it quits. Lucy from the bookstore gave her a ride home, so she didn't need to summon another Lyft home.

As she entered her apartment her dog "Chloe" greeted her. Chloe is a Pomeranian with white fur. The chubby browned hair writer decided it was time to take a shower. After a hot soothing shower, Ana got out and her cell phone started ringing. She answered "Hello". There was a small but quiet voice on the other side. "May I please speak to Anastasia Beckham?"

Ana replied, "speaking". The lady responded with" I'm Martha of the Grandest Publication Company in London, England, and we would like to offer you a position in our yearly program as a writer. Do you except?" Ana could not believe what she was hearing. She answered with a yes. Martha came back and said, "Since this is a temp position, we can't offer any money for the program but we can place you with a job and a place to stay. I see that you have experience with babysitting/caretaker experience. Would you want to stay with that interest?

Ana replied with a yes again. Martha said, "wonderful! With your experience of 10 years of babysitting, our agency should be able to place you somewhere. I will call you back shortly with the details."

The writer said, thank you and hung up the phone. She was so excited and forgot she was dancing around in her towel. She ran quickly to her room and got dressed and started packing.

The phone rang shortly after it was Martha. "Hey Anastasia. You will get off at the London International Airport and you will see a man holding a sign with your name. His name will be Lord John Coachman. He will be taking you the Castle of Browning. It's the home of the King and Queen, and their son Prince Matthew. You will be taking care of the Prince's 8 year old daughter Sara, while you stay and work for our company online." Ana replies" Thank you."

Anastasia wakes up the next morning and calls her best friend Rochelle and she takes her to airport. Her friend will be taking care of Chloe while she is gone.

As Ana arrived and said goodbye to her friend, she looks out the doors, and says one final Goodbye to New York.

Anastasia finally arrived at the London International Airport. She looks around and finds the guy holding the sign that read her name. He smiles at her and shakes her hand and says "Welcome Miss Beckham to England." Ana shakes his hand back and says" just Ana please." The man nodded and said, very well". He introduced himself as Lord John Coachman. They reached the car, and he opened the door, and put the luggage inside the trunk. They were off to the Castle of Browning. She looked around all the sights and the scenery on her way to the castle, as the car splashed through the streets of the country side. They finally arrived at the big castle. The New York writer looks up at the castle as Lord Coachman gathered her things.

A group of people had formed outside the huge house. Lord Coachman introduced her to King Browning and his wife Lynda, some servants and the Prince himself.  A little girl peaked around the corner.  Ana's face lights up, and says "you must be Sara".  Sara nods and smiles and gives Ana a hug. Ana smiled at her and said "we are going to be great friends."Sara smiles and stood next to her father.

A white limo pulls up behind the car Ana arrived in and out stepped a blonde haired lady. She gave a snarled look at Ana and walked over to Prince Matt and kissed him. The Queen leans over and whispers to Ana, " That's the Duchess of Wales Julia Hemburk, she will be marrying into our family in a few days." Ana nods her head.

Lord Coachman and the servants takes Ana's stuff to her room next to Sara's.  As soon as Ana enters the room, Sara calls her over immediately, to have a tea party with her. As they shared the moment, Ana was asked to share things about herself.  The writer shared all her stories with the 8 year old, and she replied "I wish you could stay longer." Ana smiles and said, " you never know what might happen."  She reached into her bag and pulled out the kid's book she wrote and signed it, and told her sometimes a fairytale can come true but it's never too late to wish for it too!

Sara frowned, "My father is marrying the Duchess in a few days. She and I don't get along. She wants to send me off to hoarding school and my father is never around to notice I'm not happy." Ana frowned and gave Sara a big hug. Ana asked" why is your father marrying the Duchess?" Sara wipes her tears. "it's an arranged marriage. I can tell father isn't happy at all but he has to do it take his place as King and the Duchess is royalty! "

Ana shakes her head" I hate arranged marriages". Sara looked at her and said, " I told father that he needs to find somebody that makes him and me happy like mother did, but he brushes it off and said his father and mother were in a  arranged marriage and they didn't love each other but grew fond of each other, after they were married and had kids. And they are very happy in love but I want my father to find something now then regret it down the line."

Ana nodded her head. "I can't agree with you anymore then what I already do". As Ana gives Sara a hug, she whispers in her ear,"I wish you could be my mother Ana". Ana felt tears rolling down her eyes, and said "me too baby girl me too.

Prince Matthew Browning came into the room to tuck his daughter into bed. Ana sneaked off to her room and closed the door. As she was about to take off her clothes and set down to do some writing, there was a knock on the door.

Ana opened it and it was the Prince. He said " Would you like to join me ? "

Ana nodded her head and followed the Prince across the property towards the boat dock.
