chapter twenty fifth

She looked like she was shivering so I immediately gave her my jacket and wrapped it around her shoulders. I began apologising to her, wholeheartedly. I confessed that I only acted that way because I didn't want any of the drivers to try flirt with her and told her that I liked her.

She looked shocked at my confession and said, "Lando, it's fine I understand. But, we work together and if people think we are together it makes it look like I've just slept my way to getting job." I completely understood where she was coming from, she was right.

But I still needed to know how she felt so I asked, "Is there any part of you that feels anything for me? Tell me you feel absolutely nothing for me, then I'll leave you alone" I hoped, I prayed that she said she did feel something. I know she did, I could feel it.

Her face turned to a frown and her cheeks were flooded red, "Lando, I don't know how I feel. It's just there's-" She said, I couldn't even focus on what she was saying at that point. I knew she was letting me down.

"There's someone else?" I ask, feeling so hurt and embarrassed.

She responds with a nod, we both looked uncomfortable and upset. I felt so defeated and dumbfounded. Of course, she'd have a boyfriend. I was stupid to think she didn't.

"Don't worry about it" I assure her with a faint smile.

We head back inside, her following closely behind me. I notice Charles was now talking to a girl, as we got closer I saw that it was his ex girlfriend. Maybe they were getting back together, I thought to myself.

I got to sit down next to George, leaving space for Ella. All of sudden, she sits on my lap. I was perplexed but also perfectly happy with her on me.

"Oops, sorry" She whispered to me in my ear, I couldn't help but grin at her.

Charlotte, Charles' ex girlfriend, introduced herself to Ella and Victoria. I could already tell Ella and Victoria didn't like her, understandably. I knew she cheated on Charles multiple times. What I didn't know was that she cheated once with Max, which George just had just told us.

"So, Ella. Who do you think is the best looking driver?" Charlotte asked.

Ella looked so embarrassed by the question, a part of me hoped that she thought of me. In fact, I felt confident that she did. Charlotte kept pushing for Ella to answer until Charles shouts, "She doesn't want to answer, let her fucking be."

Charlotte looked so angry at the way Charles shouted at her. Charlotte said, "Oh. I see how it is" as she stands up with a drink in her hand heading towards me and Ella.

She threw the drink all over Ella, we all gasped in shock. I looked over at Ella who had so much fury in her eyes, I'd never seen before. Ella starts to stand up, so I get up before she could get to Charlotte.

"You better fucking leave right now." I shout to Charlotte, I surprised by how aggressive I sounded. But, I was so angry about what she had done to Ella.

Charlotte laughed in my face and starts to leave, "So, you've got two boyfriends. Wow, you really are trashy" she says as she points at me and Charles.

That comment infuriated me. There was no way that would ever happen. Charles can't have her. I'm confident that he wasn't the someone else that Ella just told me about, how could he be?

Charles now is also standing up near me as he shouts at Charlotte to also leave. She leaves and we both are stood next to each other, looking at Ella. She was completely drenched and looked so angry. She looked at me and Charles, back and forth, almost like she didn't know what to do or say.
