67 - a very gay picnic

Everybody gasped and did a collective double take. Was that Jude in a Raimon uniform? What the hell was going on?

Axel couldn't help but grin when Jude walked up to the rest of the team. "So you took my advice?"

Jude rolled his eyes playfully. "If only you would take mine next."

Axel looked away, but he couldn't help but feel smug that he was slightly involved.

"Care to tell us what's going on??!!!"The announcer boomed.

A random person handed Jude a microphone. "Getting revenge against Zeus, that's what I'm doing!"

The crowd went wild. The Farm Jr High team looked pissed off.

"Is this match ever gonna start?"one boy complained.

"Yes!"the referee said sheepishly. "Take positions for the first kick, boys!"

Mark was starry eyed. "You're on our team now?"

"I had to keep my promise. We are playing that final match together, Mark, but this time as allies."

Mark beamed. "I look forward to it!"

Axel smiled at Mark and Jude before running to his position to take the first kick.

After a difficult first half, the team were sat in the locker room guzzling down water, contemplating the second half of the game ahead.

They were struggling really bad against the rival team, despite Jude's amazing plays.

"You're an amazing addition to the team,"said Kevin,"and I don't say that lightly."

"He really doesn't,"Axel laughed. "That's the same guy who would've slit my throat when I joined."

"I doubt that's true,"Jude laughed.

"Oh it was,"Kevin said with one hundred percent seriousness.

"Oh this stupid conversation doesn't matter!"Nellie yelled. "Find a way to turn the game around, will you! Or else Jude will never get to have the revenge that he wants!"

"True,"Jude said. "In all seriousness, I think Kevin is our key to victory today."

"Aww, you're making me blush,"Kevin jokingly said. "Is this your way of sucking up to me?"

"No!"Jude said. "It's an idea for a play, honest."

Jude ended up being correct. The final goal was scored by Kevin and his signature move, Dragon Crash.

Later that evening, Axel and Jude were on a walk.

"I wanna show you something,"Axel said, leading Jude up to he and Mark's spot. "Seeing as you are part of the team now, it is only fair."

"I'm shocked. You're actually nice when you get to know you."

"Oh shut up. I am not."

"Please actually listen to my advice, Axel."

As the two walked up the hill, they saw Mark and Nathan together, having a picnic.

"I brought him!"Axel yelled.

"Yay!"Jude said. "Aww this is so cute, guys."

"It's to celebrate you joining the team, Jude! And also winning the game."

Jude couldn't help but grin. "I loved my old team and all, but they never did anything this cute."

"Same,"said Axel quietly.

"I'm so happy that you're on the team. I never even thought it was a possibility, but I have to admit, I did daydream about it,"Mark said happily. "But you're here! In my spot!"

Mark pulled the other three boys into a big hug, and Jude giggled. "Was he always this nice?"

"Yes,"said Nathan without thinking.

Jude gave him the side eye.

"Uh, I mean even though I didn't always know him, he was always kind. We were still in classes together, you know, even before I joined the soccer team,"Nathan said in a flustered tone, his face burning red.

"I was just messing with you, sorry,"Jude said, but he stared at Nathan with a knowing stare, that even Nathan could see under the signature blue goggles that he always wore.

Of course Mark didn't notice, much to Nathan's relief, because he was too busy giggling at something Axel said.

"You're way to observant for your own good, Jude,"Nathan muttered.

Jude just laughed. "It'll all work out in the end, you'll see."

Nathan hated to admit that his heart fluttered at the thought that maybe there was a way that he and Mark could end up together instead.
