Part II Pilot - New Beginnings

Start from the beginning

"You're going to do amazing...I know you will." He whispered to you. He kissed you again on the cheek this time before releasing you. He had a look of pride on his face as you looked back at him and walked out of his sight.

When you arrived at Hecat's classroom she was making herself tea in the corner of the room as stacks of papers floated to organize themselves on a desk nearby.

"Good morning!" You greeted happily. Hecat turned to see you and returned the greeting.

"Good morning. Excited are we? I remember that first day." She chuckled.

"Are you no longer excited to start new school years?" You walked over to the desk collecting papers and placed your bag down.

"Well...I wouldn't say that. Every year is always an adventure, I meet daring souls eager to learn, of course some more than others..." She placed her cup of tea down and turned to face you- an expression of nostalgia in her smile. "I suppose I shall miss the 'first days' soon enough, hmm?"

You stood taller as she said that and fidgeted with your hands behind your back.

You spent the day following her around and listening to her instructions for the upcoming first week. You enchanted your journal to take notes as you both spoke and prepared the room. Near the time of the feast she asked you to list the subjects for the year on the chalkboards as she went to the Great Hall.

"Lets see...Ghosts....Hags..."

"I believe Gytrashes and Vampires were next..."

You turned around to see Ominis standing in the doorway.

"Ominis! What are you doing here?" You walked over to greet him with a hug, he hugged you back and you felt the warmth of his hands on your back. When you pulled away he smiled at you before letting go.

"Hello again, Lutea."

"Hello! Are you visiting?"

"Actually, I'm here on business."

"Business?"

"I'm still under the ministry for now and they brought me here at Hogwarts to shadow Headmaster Black."

"Shadow?...Are you going to be a Headmaster?"

He guffawed before answering you.

"Merlin, no, but I think this will be my last assignment for the ministry. I just need to figure out what do do with myself afterwards. The silver lining right now is being able to spend more time with my dear friend outside of the Sallow household."

You smiled warmly as he reached for your hand and placed a gentle kiss.

"I just wanted to visit you before the feast, I did not know what plans you had tonight or if we'd see each other later."

"I'm so glad you're here, Ominis, it will be fun to have you around...But please do not become like Headmaster Black or I will turn you into a puffskein."

"I promise I will never become anything like Black. Who do you take me for?"

You both laughed as you said your goodbyes and you went back to the chalkboard.

"Gytrashes and Vampires...he's right. Clever boy."

----------------------------------------------

You stood at the sidelines watching the students eat and visit. The first years were high spirited and loud- it made you wonder what you would have looked like coming here at the age of eleven instead of fifteen.

Memories of your first year at Hogwarts began to flood your mind. You remembered Gringotts, the first test and Professor Fig guiding you to the sorting ceremony just in time. Your eyes began to water a bit when you felt someone tug at your dress.
