Seven~

Emery's Pov~
It's been a few months now since everything went down. "Hey you coming?" Mary asked walking down the stairs I shook my head looking over the couch. "I don't know it's a lot of people" she sighed walking over sitting next to me "Look, Steve and I both will be there okay?" She grabbed my hands I smiled softly "I know that and I can't thank you both enough for that" Mary stood up pulling me up off the couch. "Come on it will be fine besides the team is so excited to meet you." She shoved me towards the stairs I laughed shaking my head. I jogged up the stairs and got changed.

  ~Dinner~

I sat next to Steve and Danny I stayed quiet most of the dinner Steve leaned back into his chair crossing his arms over his chest. "So Emery, tell us about your self besides everything we heard about you was from our boy here Steve" Lou tapped his back he shook his head laughing "I don't talk about her that much" chin laughed looking over at me "Don't believe a word he says" I laughed a little shaking my head. "Well of course you may know I use to be a DEA Agent. I was a Sargent I was a Sargent for many years." Lou and chin nodded there heads "If I may ask, you said Was what happened why did you step down?" Danny asked I looked over at him for a moment.

"Umm" I fell quiet for a moment my mind started to race. "Hey why don't you tell them how you got me into a dress and make up on me?" Steve said sitting up in his seat I looked over at him making eye contact with him I smiled softly at him. "Wait you got this man in a dress and make up?? Ooh I gotta hear this" we quickly changed the subject I told them all about it. The team started to pick fun at Steve I looked over at him as they started to talk about how bad he probably looked. "Thank you" I mouthed to him he nodded his head sitting up. He grabbed my hand softly under the table gently giving it a squeeze.

The night went on it was now down to just me and Steve I sat there drinking my beer. "How did I do?" I asked him he shook his head. "Not bad at all you did amazing I'm proud of you" he smiled softly at me I smiled looking down at my bottle. I've constantly told Mary and Steve I hated big events and stuff it bugs me and causes me to have attacks. "Not one attack today." He said taking a sip of his beer not going to lie I was also proud of myself I didn't think I'd do this well. Well if Steve and Mary wasn't here then yeah it probably wouldn't of been good "I think I'm slowly getting ready to open up about what happened just not yet I'll tell you okay?" He smiled nodding his head. "Take your time Emery, you don't need to rush it okay? I'll be ready when ever YOU are ready." He slowly stood up pulling his wallet out I raised my eyebrow

"I thought you forgot that?" I asked pointing to it he shook his head laughing. "Shush it, don't tell Danny you saw this he will be jealous." I laughed standing up we left the bar walking down the road. Since both our rides ditched us. "Can't believe Mary left me here" he laughed nodding his head "Your telling me Danny ditched me also" I laughed at him "Isn't it the other way around?" I asked he shook his head "Only when a issue come's up" I nodded my head it was one long day not going to lie I'm happy it's over but sad at the same time because apparently Mary said today was the last day Steve was going to be in Hawaii because he had to leave for a thing tomorrow she didn't tell me what it is or what it was for.

"Can I ask you something?" I asked shoving my hands into my pocket walking on the inside of the side wall. "What's up?" He asked I looked over at him "How long will you be gone?" I asked him he sighed deeply "Mary told you huh?" He asked I nodded my head he sighed looking forward "I'll be gone for a weekend maybe a little longer" it fell quiet yet again the walk was long and quiet nothing was said.

~Home~

"Well this is it" Steve placed me in my feet at the door step I climbed off his back smiling softly. "Thank you for carrying me" I walked over to the door I looked in the drive way and Mary wasn't home yet. "You want something to drink for your walk back? I'm sure your sister has something inside." He nodded his head I grabbed the keys and unlocked the door we walked inside. He shut the door behind him. I walked over to the fridge opening it grabbing a bottle of water. "Here we go do you want one?" I asked him shutting the fridge

"Yeah one will be good." He called out I walked out the kitchen into the living room. "Here you go." I walked over to him handing him the bottle of water ever since that mission we went on my thoughts explored my head more and more of that kiss that happened a while ago. It was unexpected and it was a first between me and him. "What's on your mind?" He asked I looked up at him humming in response "What's going on your all quiet?" He asked I shook my head. I wasn't going to go down this road it was the spur of the moment thing. "Just thinking about Logan." His entire body shifted to stiff "Are you having a bad day?" He asked I nodded my head he pointed to the couch I walked over sitting down with him.

We sat there for almost the whole night talking about him. How my brother was the one amazing man "Logan would be proud of you Em, don't ever second guess his thoughts he loved you so much." I pulled my knees up to my chest nodding my head. "It's just.. after he died in my arms everything.. everything went down hill Steve" he sighed moving closer to me wrapping his arms around me pulling me into his chest rubbing my back softly I cried into his arms. "When I leave I want you to know that if you need anything and I mean anything you either Go to the headquarters or call me okay?" He placed his finger under my chin lifting my head up to look him in the eyes. I nodded my head "I'm going to miss you" he smiled his half ass smile "I'll miss you too get some sleep I'll talk to you later" he kissed my forehead and stood up I walked him over to the door I grabbed the door handle "Goodnight" I slowly went to open the door he stood there looking at me "Yeah?" I asked him his eyes flickered I swore he was leaning in till headlights snapped us away "Hey what are you doing here?" Mary called out getting out her car she shook his head "Nothing I was just leaving I'll see you guys later" he rushed off walking down the road "Was my brother just about to kiss you?" She asked teasing me I rolled my eyes shutting the door behind us
