Warning: Brief mention of death, death

ᴄʜᴀᴘᴛᴇʀ ꜰɪᴠᴇ

The gas station buzzed with fluorescent lights, casting an eerie glow on the worn-out floor. The air was thick with tension as the psionic trio gathered around a table near the back of the store.

Trinity's hands trembled as she took a deep breath. "Guys," she began, her voice barely above a whisper.

"I... I saw something. Something horrible." Her words hung heavily in the air, catching the attention of her friends, who leaned in, their eyes fixed on her.

The abilities displayed by an individual classified as an Orange varied widely, ranging from mind control to the uncanny ability to read the memories of others—a skill that Trinity had never managed to master. The books she had borrowed from the camp controllers provided no insight into this ability, leaving her in the dark. So, when she was suddenly plunged into Andrew's memory, it shook her to her core.

Yuta, sensing her distress, turned to her with a voice laced with concern. "What was it?"

The ebony-haired teen struggled to find her voice, her heart pounding with the weight of what she had witnessed. "I... I saw a memory," she stammered, her voice quivering as she relived the haunting image in her mind. "It was Andrew's, and he looked like he was in one of the rehabilitation camps. I think there was a breakout because kids were running all over the place.... but he pushed one of them to the ground, and..."

She faltered, her words choked by the sheer horror of the memory. Her hands instinctively flew to cover her mouth, and a heavy silence hung between them. Yuta and Jaehyun exchanged a knowing glance.

Andrew had killed a psi.

The revelation sent a shiver down their spines, and the gravity of their situation became all too clear. If Andrew was aligned with the League, then it meant that they were in danger.

Cate's actions up to this point had been far from malicious, but Trinity couldn't help but question the trustworthiness of the woman and, by extension, the Children's League, after what she had witnessed in that memory.

"We have to get out of here," Jaehyun said. As the friends exchanged hurried glances, the sound of footsteps echoed from outside the gas station. "Now!"

With their backpacks in hand, the three of them dashed for the rear exit. "Trinity!" Cate's voice echoed throughout the empty store.

"Go!" The Purple yelled, encouraging the two males to escape first. They remained rooted in their spot, but then she whispered, Trust me, and immediately, they ran out of the store.

The urgency of the moment propelled the girl into action as she hastily gathered as many snacks as she could into her backpack. Her movements were swift and efficient, a testament to the years spent honing her survival instincts.
