The vegetarian vampire family, with the male part of it, sat on the couch watching the news. Horror was evident on their faces as they realized that these were not just the doings of a serial killer or wild animals but something even more terrible – newborn vampires.
"It's getting worse," said the clan leader Carlisle, looking at Bella and Edward as they entered the living room. "We're going to have to do something."
"It takes more than one of our kind to cause the damage they're reporting," the former army major remarked with a slight smile. "Quite a few more. And they're undisciplined, conspicuous."
"It's newborns," Edward concluded, holding the girl close to him.
After sharing the information about the newborns, Carlisle continued, "I have an acquaintance, an old vampire. I can try to contact her and ask for help. If someone is preparing an army of new vampires, we will need more hands. We can't handle it ourselves."
Silence filled theroom as everyone contemplated the man's proposal. On one hand, he was right –they truly needed assistance. On the other hand, who knew if this new vampire would bring more problems than they already had.
