Message For The Sire

Start from the beginning

Squeezing my hand in his while twirling my wedding ring with his thumb he asked one of his vampires. "What are you doing in our city?"

Lucien walked closer to my husband. "News has spread, old friend. Every vampire in the world knows you've been attacked, a number of times nearly killed."

Klaus didn't need to look my way knowing that I was worried even though he wasn't. "Oh. Well, I can assure you that all those who stood against me ended up either desiccated, dust, or dinner."

Lucien declared, making me think of Stefan, Damon and Caroline. "Yes, but what if it had gone the other way, hmm? When Finn was killed, we all learned the truth... The life of every vampire is linked back to the original who begat the line. Kol's death confirmed it. Two entire lines of vampires wiped out. As you can imagine, the treat of it doesn't sit well with those of us that remain."

My husband raised his drink to his lips, taking a drink before sending him a straight face. "Anyone fearing death as a result of my demise should come see me. I'll be happy to reassure them."

"Of course. Heh. You and your siblings are mighty indeed, yet the attacks on you do show that you are not completely invulnerable. While you've wallowed in your family affairs, your progeny have grown somewhat restless. The world is a finite place, territory limited, and even ancient vampires are not above vicious turf wars. What if I told you there's a growing conflict between the remaining 3 sire lines? Suppose one of them wanted to annihilate the other by killing Elijah, Rebekah, you?" Lucien raised his gaze upward since he wasn't as tall as our great sire.

He asked him where I gripped the wine glass in my fingers. "So, you came all this way to deliver a warning?"

Lucien shook his head when I sat my glass down, beginning to run my fingers through my hair knowing if anyone came after him I would die too. "Think about it. kill an original, wipe out an entire line of competition. A tempting goal, made more so by the fact that your family is divided and thus weaker than you have ever been."

Nik growled in his face. "My family is hardly weak. In fact, we are unkillable. The last of the white oak is gone."

Lucien moved his gaze over to me trying to persuade him into seeing the problem. "Are you so certain it's all gone, every last splinter of it banished for good....would you take the chance of losing your darling wife?"

Klaus glanced over his shoulder to me then he grabbed him by his shoulder getting in his face. "Lucien, if you had even the slightest inkling any fragment of white oak still existed, of course you would tell me."

"Easy, Nik. You are my sire. My fate is linked to yours. If you want to know what I do about the dangers you now face, trust me enough to come with me. There is something that you must see." Lucien warned him by taking us out of the art gallery and to an apartment I had never been inside before.

Once we were inside I could see a room full of vampires feeding on humans without a care. Shaking my head I fought against wanting to drain half the room dry. Instead I followed after the boys. Lucien led us into a room  inside his house where I saw a woman with dark skin and curly black hair. "Alexis is no back alley palm reader. She's an expert cipher of patterns, trends, cycles. She's extraordinary on the stock market and never fails to guess the winner of "the bachelorette."

I felt uneasy where my fangs began coming forth when she placed her hand on his chest where his shirt wasn't covering. So she was touching his bare chest. "Touch forward, isn't she?"

"Motus-" Nik took my hand in his before I could launch the girl across the room.

He whispered in my ear trying to calm me down. "Easy love...I do oh so love this possessive side though."

Alexis tilted her head shifting her gaze over to me seeing I was angry. "I've heard so much about you, the famous hybrid. Your ancient heart beats strong indeed for someone in such danger."

Klaus snarled in her face. "If you have a warning to deliver, luv, best get on with it, especially before my wife here tries to melt your brain."

"By all means, but if you want the most from the experience, I suggest you feed on me. As you do, I'll allow you into my mind." Alexis moved her hair to the other side. "You can see for yourself."

Lucien waved Klaus and I over to the girl where he bites into her right wrist. Nik goes for the vein in her neck and I went for her other wrist. "Come on. How long has it been since we shared a real drink?...You're girl can join in too."

Alexis' voice could be heard in my mind as I drank her blood down my throat. "Drink deep, but beware. What you broke is past repair. All your oaths you betray. Your sacred vows you sever, and now you see that nothing lasts for always and forever. 3 yet remain, 2 already crossed, yet in one year's time, you'll all be lost. As your family is undone, you will seed the beast that is to come."

Retracting my fangs from her neck I gasped stumbling away from him glancing at Nik when he growled in her face. "Ohh! Do you think you can fool me with bad poetry and parlor tricks?"

Alexis said back to him. "My visions conjure from you. The threat you face will be more clear the longer I'm in your presence. kill me, you'll never see what's coming."

Lucien kissed her wrist before she left us alone. "I told you. Something is coming. You'll need me."

"Aah! I am Klaus Mikaelson! I don't need anyone, nor will I be warned by lesser men! I am the thing lesser men fear!" Klaus suddenly throws him against the wall shouting towards his first vampire.

Lucien moved around him, throwing his hands around. "Then act like it... Ha ha... Instead of doting on your pretty heretic wife and pouting about your family's disapproval. Yes, you are Klaus Mikaelson! You are the most ruthless, wicked beast to ever live. I came here to remind you of that because, quite frankly, I've been worried that you've lost a step."

He stepped towards him slowly. "I need no reminding of who I am. That truth has been clear to me for a thousand years."

Lucien put a hand over his heart before he walked up to him trying to convince him otherwise. "And in those years, you've acquired countless enemies, and with the sire lines at war, you now have mine, as well. Anyone who would kill me could now come after you, and since I have so many rivals and because I do not want to die, I beg you let me help you. From now on, I am the only one you can trust."

Nik licked his lips taking my hand in his vamping us out of the room "I don't trust anyone...come on Raelyn let's go." While we walked through the streets in the middle of the night neither of us knew that someone was watching us from above.

A woman with red hair was holding the sketch of me from Nik's book in her hands before she crumbled it up into pieces screaming. "I was supposed to be the only one for him!"
