Yang: "I told you she would come."

Y/N: "Good job, Yang."

Weiss: "Mission accomplished."

Ruby turns to her teammates.

Ruby: "Soooo, what do we do now?"

Yang: "Just have fun! In fact, Weiss, I need your help with something."

Weiss: "Huh? What?"

The blonde proceeds to walk away, dragging Weiss away. Yang looks back at Y/N, giving him a playful grin and nod, which Y/N nods back. Once Ruby tries to take one step, she almost starts to fall, which Y/N manage to catch her.

Ruby: "Yang! Does that mean I can change out of these stupid things and into my hood now?"

She gets no answer as she waddles around in her painful footwear with Y/N's support.

Y/N: "Just walk slowly."

Ruby: "Ugh, stupid lady heels."

Ozpin: "Not enjoying yourself?"

The two are surprised to see the headmaster step up beside them with a mug on his hand.

Ruby: "Oh, no, everything's fine. I'm just... not much of a fancy pantsy, dancey girl."

Ozpin: "Well, you can't spend your whole life on the battlefield, even if you may want to."

In response, Ruby crosses her arms, looking annoyed.

Ruby: "Yeah, that lesson's been floating around a lot lately."

Y/N: "I mean, it's not so bad."

Ozpin's gaze is focus on the whole dance as he responds back.

Ozpin: "If you think about it, fighting and dancing aren't so different. Two partners interlocked, although one wrong move on the ballroom merely leads to a swollen foot."

The team leader looks down at her own feet.

Ruby: "Or a twisted ankle."

Y/N: "Possibly a broken leg."

Ozpin: "It's not every day that friends are able to come together like this. Time has a way of testing our bonds, but it's nights like these that can help keep them stronger than ever. Nights like these are ones we'll never forget."

Y/N: "I can agree to that."

Upon saying this, Ozpin leaves the two alone as Ruby continues to stare at her feet, looking upset. Y/N takes notice of this.

Y/N: "Rubes? What's up?"

Ruby: "Nothing. It's just... Ozpin's words... just made me realize something."

Y/N: "Oh, what is it?"

Ruby: "I realize that I'm more comfortable on the battlefield than I do in a normal life. Like, put a weapon in my hands, I'll get excited over it. Ask me to shoot a Grimm down, I can do that. If I put my mind to it, I can also be an egghead... be at school, killing monsters... but I try doing something normal... I end up ruining it or looking like a kid."

Upon saying this, the sadden Ruby clenches her fists as she continues.

Ruby: "I can't even wear these heels properly... Is there something wrong with me? Am I not... normal?"

Y/N's expression goes dark, listening to her before finally looking back at her.

Y/N: "There's nothing wrong with you, Ruby. That's just who you are."

Ruby: "Huh?"

Y/N: "If you're that scared and insecure, then why do you try? Why do you want to try wearing a dress and heels? Why go to places like the bookstore and bakery with me?"
