LUCIAN

"What the fuck?" the man from earlier says.

The realization hits me like a bucket of cold water. Oh my god. He is the boss. The CEO of this company, I spilled coffee on my potential boss?

I want a hole to open up and swallow me, I can't stand looking in his eyes. Embarrassment is flowing through every vein. What am I supposed to do in this situation?

I break eye contact and clear my throat walking towards the seat. "Good morning, Mr. Moreno" I greet him, but he doesn't respond. I am not even looking at him. I am just staring at the floor.

The floor seems more interesting than this man. "Please take a seat" he politely asks. I do as he says, I want this job so desperately.

I hand him over my documents and stare at him, waiting for any kind of expression. Nothing. His face is blank, not giving away any hint of a smile.

"I am impressed by your passion for architecting, Ms. West," he says taking a sip of his coffee. Not the coffee I spilled on him, but a new coffee from the same place.

"Thank you" I whisper, lifting my head I see him staring right at me. Like right at me.

God, why do you fucking hate me? I ask him. Of course, he doesn't answer me. He never does.

"Excuse me?" Oh. Did I say it out loud? Perfect. This day can't get any worse, for sure. "Nothing, just talking to myself" I reply, chuckling to myself. How very funny.

He is still reading my documents and resume. I silently pray he selects me. I mean he has to, I studied and worked my ass off for this perfect resume.

"Perfect, you may start tomorrow" He finally says handing me the office contract to sign and my documents back. Our fingers lightly brush and I feel this zap of electricity.

Woah there.

I am still staring at him, I don't know what it is about this man and why he isn't bringing up our morning's not-so-pleasant encounter.

He raises an eyebrow, I raise mine. He looks at the contract, Oh, right.

I sign the contract and I am not shocked when I see the salary, he pays well. Of course, it's a big firm after all.

I slide the contract to his side of the table and thank him.

"You can start your work from tomorrow," He says, dismissing me. Thank God.
