Breaking Dawn (part three: Ruby pov)

"Is that possible?" I asked looking at them.

"Gifts can be developed over time." Carlisle said and I looked to Seiya, wondering if our gifts were like that too.

"At first, mine was just in my palms. Now I can radiate it all over my body." Kate said looking at me and Bella.

"How do you do it?" Bella asked and Kate just shrugged."Tell me." Bella asked in excitement as she grabbed on to Kate's wrist.

"Um. Ow." Kate said before Bella let go, looking apologetic and Kate told her to follow her outside. We all followed behind wanting to see what would happen.

Kate stopped in the trees by our house and began instructing Bella on what she should do.

"You need to visualize it. See how it moves. What color it is. Now picture it expanding and will it to go beyond you." Kate instructed her and I realized that sounded similar to how I bonded Seiya and me last night.

Bella looked frustrated but concentrated as she followed her instructions. From Seiya's and me perch on a nearby tree branch we had the perfect view of everything that was happening. We saw a small almost invisible force come from Bella for about a second before it disappeared like it got sucked back into her like a vacuum. Edward and Kate  exchanged looks.

"I think she needs something to motivate her." Kate said, and Edward nervously stepped forward.

"No." Bella said shaking her head, realizing what was about to happen.

"It's alright I can take it." Edward said, facing Kate in false bravado.

"He says that now." Garret said in Sarcasm with a small knowing grin. Having felt Kate's shock first hand, he probably knew.

"Focus Bella or he's gonna be hurting." Emmett joked next to Garret.

"Edward I'm not ready to do this yet." Bella called out but it was to late. Edward had already stuck his hand up and Kate shocked him, making him bend over in pain. "I'm  sorry I said I wasn't ready." Bella quickly said when he looked at her.

"Dude you're not motivating her." Emmett said to him.

"You wanna try?" Edward snapped at him in an irritated tone, causing Emmett to hold up his hands defensively and I laughed. Bella sighed and tried again to push the almost invisible force out of her, towards Edward, but it didn't work as Kate shocked Edward on his neck this time.

"Kate!" Bella warned looking at her.

"You seem to lack incentive. Shall I go see if Renesmee is awake?" Kate said shifting her body towards the house.

"Are you crazy?" Bella stepped towards her, threateningly, daring her to go get her daughter with her eyes. Seiya shifted next to me and I felt her nervousness and shook my head as I felt my own. Kate must have never seen a mother bear protect her cub, because that was Bella right now. Plus Bella was still a newborn. She could pick Kate up and send her flying several yards if she wanted. Plus I didn't think that was a good idea either. Nessie was half human, we were still learning about what all she could do but if it hurt us I know it would hurt her. Not to mention she was our goddaughter and we're all protective of her, I don't think any of us want to see her hurt.
