Breaking Dawn (part three: Ruby pov)

"Did it work?" she asked.

"I think so. I don't feel confused even though you look it." I say and she smiled sadly.

"I felt nothing actually and that's what was confusing, for a split second I didn't feel anything, then all these emotions and feelings hit me, like panic and lost."

"Why did you feel those?" I asked.

"Because I couldn't feel anything not even my love for you, which terrified me for that second by the way. Lost because well.... I think I missed feeling that close to you. I can feel you all around me like you can me. It's scary but also reassuring." She said.

"Oh well I should be able to put it back." I say closing my eyes.

"Wait. I want you to do that only if you want to, not because I said so." She said and I felt her hand on my cheek. I opened my eyes and stared at her.

"I did it in the first place because I wanted to feel that close to you. Plus I was starting to get a little used to it." I say smiling as I tilted my head in her palm.

"Alright then." She said smiling back. I stared into her eyes and let all my feelings and emotions wash towards her again and sort of pushed them towards her. She gasped and that's how I knew we were bonded again. I could feel her surprise as she felt my emotions.

"It worked." I said smiling and she grinned back. "I guess it's easier with you because we're so close."

"Ruby this is—"

"Scary?" I asked and she shook her head.

"Amazing. You have a power just like me. I knew there was something special about you when we first met." She said.

"Are you sure it wasn't just the tattoos?" I joked and she laughed.

"No I felt it on a deeper level. I never felt the urge to be closer to any humans before I met you. I guess you could say I craved to know you. Inside and out. Now look at us." She giggled and I shook my head.

"Yeah even if my powers are weird." I say.

"No they're not weird, there what makes you, you."

The next day we were sitting in the living room with our cousins, Carlisle, Emmett, Garret, Edward and Bella, discussing the battle.

"Aro will want us incapacitated before he attacks. Jane and Alec will try to take me out first because I can anticipate their moves." Edward replied.

"To bad we don't all have your shield." Garret said to Bella as he stood by Kate. He's been attached to her ever since she shocked him. My mind flashed back to Seiya when I was a human and she said it felt like she got hit by lightning when she realized she loved me. I wondered if it was the same feeling for him.

"Doesn't help me fight though." Bella replied.

"But you could help the rest of us if you could project it." Tanya replied.

"What do you mean?" Bella asked looking confused.

"I mean shield someone other than yourself." Tanya answered.
