Breaking Dawn (part three: Ruby pov)

Start from the beginning

"I'm sorry my love. I just wished I could give you everything you could ever want. I'd have you be queen of the world if you wanted." I snorted as I hugged her.

"Thats a bit much for me. Besides who says I don't have everything I want." I say pulling away and staring into her golden eyes.

"I know, that was only an example. But if their was one thing I could give you that I knew you wanted. It would be the ability to see your mom." She said.

"I know you would and I love you so much for it. Thank you."

It was the night before the battle and we were all in the edge of the trees camping by the Field where they would arrive. Benjamin had set a few pieces of wood on fire using his ability so a few vampires could sit around it on some logs. Slowly some vampires made their way over and sat down, talking and sharing stories as others stood as still as statues in the trees, and I spotted Bella was in a tent with Renesmee. Despite the life ending situation we were in, it almost seemed Normal. Like a bunch of normal people who just went camping and was laughing and enjoying each other's company.

"Do you think we can survive this?" I asked as I looked at the others. If it did come down to a fight it doesn't mean we'll all survive.

"Yes I do believe we will." Seiya said next to me and I turned to her.

"How do you know?" I asked.

"Faith I guess or maybe it's hope. Our family has been through so much since we've met Bella. Each time we've come out victorious. So how could we not win? Either that or our family has incredibly good luck." She explained chuckling.

"Well whatever it is, I hope it lasts and gets us through this." I say quietly.

"Be brave my love. Brave like I know you are." Seiya looking at me with a smile.

"Alright I will. Since you put it like that." I say with a smirkand she giggled.

"Shall we go join the others?" She asked with a smirk and I held my elbow out so we could link arms.

"Yes we shall." I say in a fake, aristocratic voice that made her laugh as she linked her arm in mine and we headed towards the camp fire.

The next morning, we all walked until we were spread out in the middle of the large field in a line. I looked at each side of us, seeing our family and the  other vampires preparing themselves for what's to come.

"If we live through this. I'll follow you anywhere woman." I heard Garret say to Kate.

"Now you tell me." I heard her say in a disbelieving tone and I couldn't help but smile, happy for them. Here I thought Kate was in love with Edward but all it took was for her to meet the right vampire. I also like to think I helped them get closer when I practice binding them, because they always stare at each other with a look of surprise.

Other than that,  it was mostly quiet as we all scanned the woods, waiting. I had temporarily unbonded from Seiya last night because I didn't want her to feel everything that was going on with me at the moment. Despite her words of telling me to be brave I was still scared. Scared I would loose everything. That I would lose her. I reconnected our bond and instantly felt this knotted, twisting pain in my gut that made me grimace.
