There are far, far better things ahead than anything we leave behind - C.S Lewis.

Ashley's POV

We finally pull away after pouring out our hearts to each other without having to say a word, our hearts doing the communication instead. A miracle, the rain stopped.

He watched me in the eyes, his blue orbs sending signals of how much he wanted to let out. Varying emotions, vulnerability, fear, plea and a whole lot embodied in them. He wanted to say something but I didn't want him to, we were both extremely wet and if we continued like this we'd get sick. He caught on to my body language yet still parted his lips.

"I miss you." He says not wanting to let go of me, his hold not loosening a bit.

"You have to change," I gently pull myself out of his hold despite his reluctance to let me go radiating off him, "you're dripping wet." I mutter, grip his hand and drag him to the front of our door. I yell Lucas' name twice and within seconds footsteps could be heard, he was rushing towards the door where Grayson and I were, slightly quivering from the cold.

"Whoa!" Lucas was taken aback when his eyes lands on us. He gazes at us from head to toe, gaze flickering from Grayson to me, to Grayson and to me again. He continues the action, I had to clear my throat in order to get his attention.

"We're soaked." I say.

"That I can see." He grimaces, looking at us with pity.

I scowl at him as a shudder runs through me, my lip quivers. He pops up his left brow.

"Can you please get us some towels?" I say with a tone that stated he should know what to do in this circumstance.

"Right up," smiling, he says and vanishes into the house. His footsteps could be heard as he returned with two large towels in his hands. He hands over one to me and the other to Grayson.

 "Thanks." Grayson mutters.

"You're welcome." He replies and turn to me, "Won't you thank me?"

I look at him and make a silly attempt of an eye roll before placing the towel on my damp hair. He stays, watching us skeptically as we get rid of water on our bodies.

"What happened?" He moves closer to me and whispers, not wanting Grayson to hear. I shoot him a look and he lifts his hands up in mock surrender.

Couldn't he just wait till when Grayson leaves?

I ignore him. After getting dried, I lead Grayson into Lucas' room.

"Is it okay for Grayson to use your bathroom?"

Lucas' lip stretches into a wide grin, "Sure, why not?"

I drag Grayson, open Lucas' bathroom, push him into the bathroom and he doesn't fight it.

"Have a hot shower." I say before shutting the door.

"Please lend him a pair of dried clothes when he gets out." I say and his lips stretches even wider.

"Why are you smiling like an idiot?" I ask.

"You still care about him."

Of course I do!

But  I'm not admitting that to him. When I say nothing his smile widens, "Do I smell a reunion?" He starts to sniff the air and I shake my head, a smile tugging at the corners of my lips as I leave his room.

After treating myself to a long hot shower, I come out with a towel draped around my body.  Before I could think of or do anything, a knock sounds on my door.
