𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝟒𝟎

"Wait, we need to think thi-" Deku was interrupted by Dark Shadow finding their hiding spot.

He slashed through the tree keeping them hidden. Shoji then quickly sprung behind a new tree.

"So, will you stay with me and help Tokoyami, or will you rush to where Bakugo is...? Which will you choose, Midoriya, Toyomitsu?"

Silence filled the area with utter chaos. Y/n nodded and was about to answer, but Izuku beat her too.

"Sorry, Shoji, Y/n... I want to keep going, but I have another idea, as I think Y/n should rest."

"But- Izuku, I-" Y/n tried to argue lifting her arm, unfortunately, the injured, causing her to wince at the pain. "Agh...! My arm-..."

"Shhh... I know it hurts and we'll get you to the infirmary as soon as possible and have your arm healed."

"What's this plan of yours?"

"If Dark Shadow'll react to just sound, then make duplicates of your arms to use as bait and make it follow without attacking us. But we'll lead it to Kacchan. He can calm Dark Shadow with an explosion."

"That could work well... maybe I should also pitch in and create a sound-making device..." Y/n muttered to herself.

Dark Shadow then rushed towards them and was about to attack before Shoji started running off with the duo on his back.

The plan quickly sprung into action as Izuku would've hoped. A large explosion of dust clouded the air around them as Dark Shadow destroyed the many trees blocking his path.

"Tokoyami! Don't fight it!" Deku shouted at the boy.

"Surrender yourself to Dark Shadow, let him in control!" Y/n screamed as well.

"There! I can see ice! They're in the middle of a fight!" Midoriya shouted over the dust.

Shoji ran as quickly as he could away from the monstrosity. "Bakugo! Todoroki! One of you please- Make some light!"

Suddenly a sharp knife-like tentacle quickly approached them. Fortunately, Dark Shadow was also running in that direction and attacked the body of where the pole was coming from, causing the knife-toothed man to groan in pain.

"Kacchan!" Deku desperately shouted.

"Shoto!" Y/n shouted.

The two males stood staring at them in shock. Words were exchanged between them but were unable to reach the ears of the other students.

"Hurry up and make light! Tokoyami is out of control" One of Shoji's tentacles shouted.

Todoroki seemed like he was about to create a light source, but Bakugo stopped him.

'Huh? What's Bakugo doing? We need some light...! Wait... What's going on with Dark Shadow?'

Turning her head around, Y/n saw that Dark Shadow had grabbed the tendrils of the villain.

'Ah... I get it! Bakugo wants to have Dark Shadow battle the villain. Good observation!'

Dark Shadow crushed the villain's tendrils with one swift move. He then spun the villain around in the air, banging him against trees and destroying his mask, before finally launching him into a tree. Dark Shadow was about to attack again, but Bakugo and Todoroki stepped in and shun light on him using their Quirks.

Tokoyami fell from where he was floating via Dark Shadow, panting. Bakugo and Todoroki keep their Quirks on standby in case of emergency.

Shoji, still carrying Y/n and Midoriya, walked towards the three. "Tokoyami, are you alright? You did a good job doing what we asked."

"Sorry, Shoji..." Tokoyami apologized, keeping his head low. "You, too, Midoriya and Toyomitsu... I was too immature... I let my anger take over and released Dark Shadow... The influence of the darkness and my anger spurred on that guy... In the end, it got so strong that I couldn't hold it back and ended up hurting Shoji."

"We can leave that for later. That's what you would say, right?" Shoji calmly stated.

Tokoyami finally looked up and saw Shoji, Deku and Y/n. Izuku and Y/n smiled brightly at him.

Y/n patted on Shoji's arm, asking him to release her. He complied and opened his right tentacle-arm and let her get off. She stumbled a bit when landing, but easily got up again. She walked over to Tokoyami.

"Tokoyami, you don't need to apologize, you had no control over your quirk whatsoever, and you did well." Y/n smiled at him before reaching in for a side hug using her uninjured arm. Tokoyami's body was a little stiff, but he soon eased into the hug, wrapping his arms around her gently.

"Oh, right!" Izuku started, interrupting the moment. "We confirmed that one of the villains' targets is Kacchan."

"Bakugo?" Tokoyami asked as he and Y/n released the hug, Y/n standing up. "Are they trying to kill him? Why?"

'Hehehehe... Look how confused poor Katsuki is... Damn it, Y/n! This is no time to laugh about weird expressions!'

"I don't know? Anyway, I think the camp is the safest place since there are two pros, Vlad King and Mr. Aizawa, there."

"I see. So now our mission is to escort Bakugo there, huh?"

"But at the clearing, the Pussycats are still fighting. Going back to the path would bring us to the attention of the villains, and we'd lose time. We should cut straight across."

"We don't know how many villains there are. We might come across one suddenly."

"We can use Shoji's search ability. As well as Y/n's creation quirk. And we have Todoroki's freezing, and if Tokoyami's okay with it, an invincible Dark Shadow with built-in controls... Honestly, with this group, we could even go up against All Might." During the whole plan that Tokoyami and Deku talked about, Y/n was suppressing her laughter at the clueless look on Bakugo's face and the way his head turned back and forth between Midoriya and Tokoyami.

"What's with you guys?!" Bakugo barked at the group.

"You walk in the middle." Todoroki monotonously answered, one of class 1-B's students on his back unconscious.

"Don't protect me, you scum!"

"Let's go!" Shoji ordered and started walking.

"Don't ignore me!"

"Make sure you keep up." Todoroki said, walking behind Shoji.

"Don't tell me what to do!"

The group completely ignored Bakugo's shouting and continued walking forward. Shoji, Midoriya and Todoroki walked in front of Bakugo. Whilst Tokoyami and Y/n walked behind him.

'Geez, Katsuki can be so loud... It's making my head hurt... Argh... my ribs. That muscular villain really did a number on me... At..least every...one is s-sa...fe'

Y/n collapsed on the ground; her adrenaline had run out and she was unconscious. Unfortunately, the group didn't realise as she was walking at the back of the group and continued moving forward.

Swiftly a shadow moved through the dark. The figure jumped down from a tree and landed on the solid ground.

"Alright, Dabi, I get it. I'll get the girl as well." The figure spoke into his earpiece.

"Just make sure to keep her away from the other one, in a separate space or something." A low, soothing, rough voice spoke through the earpiece.

The figure walked over to the collapsed girl and touched her body, compressing her into a mere marble.

"God help the person who did this to her." The figure sighed as he looked the marbled girl over. Putting his finger on the button on his earpiece, he spoke again. "Alright, my job here seems to be done, now on to the final target."
