3th POV || July 12th, 1992
It was hot in the small Maine town
Music was playing in the old beaten truck that Richie had gotten for less than 200 bucks
The AC (unfortunately) was broken so Richie felt like dying as he drove home
He pulled up into the driveway and got out running inside
"Ah, cold air!" Richie said hanging his keys on the hook and jumping on the couch
Maggie walked in and chuckled slightly
"Long day?"
"It's freaking hot and the truck doesn't have AC.." Richie said Maggie laughed
There was a knock a few minutes letter Maggie opened it
"Hey Eddie, what's up?" She asked with that kind motherly smile
"Hi Mrs. Tozier, is Richie home?" Eddie asked Maggie looked over at the couch then back
"Yeah he fell asleep on the couch though.. you're welcome to wake him up, cause if he sleeps a lot during the day he's up all night and we lose half our cheese supply." Maggie said letting Eddie in who laughed softly
"Sounds about right."
"I'll be in the kitchen finishing up dinner."
"Okay." Eddie said as Maggie walked away
Eddie walked over to Richie and kneeled next to him
"Wake up, dipshit."
Richie jumped slightly looking over
"What do want? You have awoken me from my slumber." Richie said reaching on the floor for his glasses only seeing the vague outline of Eddie before putting them on
"I wanna talk." Eddie said
"Isn't that what we're doing right now Eds?"
"Outside." Eddie said standing up
"Okay.." Richie said slightly eery of why they had to talk outside "going anywhere or staying here?"
"Quarry?" Eddie asked Richie nodded getting up
"Let me tell me Momma Mia." Richie said Eddie smiled softly
Richie walked into the kitchen seeing his Mom standing there pushing hair out of her face
He grabbed a hair tie off the counter and went over
"Here." Richie said making Maggie look over smile taking it
"Thanks kid." she said putting it up
"I'm just going to the Quarry with Eds for a few.. I'll be home in like 30 minutes."
"Okay, just, please be careful."
"I will." Richie said leaning down slightly to kiss his Mom's cheek
Richie walked out and they both got into Richie's truck and left
"Why are we talking Eds?" Richie asked softly
"Richie.. will you just.. pull over?"
Richie did as told
"What's wrong Eddie?" Richie asked carefully Eddie sighed softly
"I wanna break up.."
"What?" Richie asked in complete surprise "everything.. everything was going fine.. I thought we were good, you know? What happened?"
"I just, can't stay around you."
"You don't love me?" Richie asked softly
"I do.. I just can't understand you.." Eddie said softly Richie nodded softly as he turned the truck around back in the other direction "Rich?"
