Leaving The Human Realm (chapter eleven)

King shouts: wake up!

Luz whines: why?

King says excitedly: the faster we get up, the quicker we find a way home!

I heard Luz groan, followed by silence, followed by another groan, and followed by Luz's voice

Luz says tiredly: King, it's four in the morning, go back to bed

King: so? I want to know, how to get home. Don't you, y/n?

I say tiredly: yeah, but not this early

King huffs before laying, back next to me. I hug the small king then fell back to sleep

A few hours later

I was woken up by someone gently pushing me

I say tiredly: five more minutes

King: will you get up. I've been trying to wake you for an hour

I look over at him and dramatically gasp

I say in a fake shock: an hour?! It usually takes two

King rolls his eyes

King: just wake up, already

He goes down the ladder, so I follow by jumping from the top bunk. The small demon leaves the room so I got changed then headed down the stairs and into the kitchen. I made myself some toast, ate it, before making my way into the living room, to see everyone awake

Camila: good morning, y/n. Everyone ready to go?

We all either nodded our heads or said "yes", then we got in the car. After a while, we got to the Gravesfield Historical Society, so we got out the car and walked into the building. I noticed no one was inside, making the building give off a creepy vibe. Camila rings the bell on the desk making a man come from the back

???: welcome to Gravesfield Historical Society

As he talked my eyes wandered over to a gold object with a name on it, "Jacob Hopkins"

Me: are you Jacob Hopkins

???: yeah, why you a cop?

He smirks

Me: no, we were hoping you could help us figure out a puzzle

I show him the scroll then he looks at it

Jacob: ooh, a rebus! Lucky for you, I am great at them

He continued to scan over the rebus. Eventually, he looks up at us

Jacob: I'll be right back

He walks into the back with the rebus, making me nervous

Brain: what is he doing?

He soon comes back out and places the rebus on the counter, making me let out a sigh I didn't know I was holding

Jacob: I'll tell you what it means but it'll cost you

Camila: how much?

Jacob: fifty dollars for the top puzzle and fifty dollars for the bottom puzzle

All our eyes widen

Luz says shocked: that's a hundred dollars!

Jacob: yep. But I'll lower the price if you tell me, why you need to know what this means

Me: a friend gave it to us

Jacob: oh yeah? Tell me, how did your friend got a hold of a mythical creatures blood?
