You couldn’t believe he didn’t show up. He promised that he would. As you warmed up for the game with your team, you couldn’t help but look for him. You knew that Harry’s flight home from tour could have been delayed, but there was a small chance of that, considering it was a gorgeous, perfect day. You fought the tears and tried to focus on the game, not worrying about Harry or why he wasn’t at the biggest football game of your life. "(Y/N)!" You stopped the ball that you were passing with a teammate and looked at your coach, who gestured you over. "What’s wrong with you today?" he asked as you jogged over. "Sorry, Coach. I’m just not with it. I’m trying though." you explained, having a feeling about what he was going to say next. "(Y/N), I can’t risk you playing if you aren’t ‘feeling it’." he replied, utilizing air quotes. "I don’t think you can start today." Seeing your face fall, he quickly continued, "I’ll put you in though. Just not right away. Hey, I left my clipboard in my office. Go get it for me?" You nodded, and he handed you his keys. You walked off. I hate you, Harry, you thought, I can’t start because of you. Why aren’t you here? Fiddling with the keys, you unlocked the locker room. You checked your phone as you walked by it, hoping to see a text, a voice mail, anything from Harry. As you thought, there wasn’t anything. You sighed and headed to your coach’s office. You searched for his clipboard, but couldn’t find it. Suddenly, you heard a voice. Someone was singing:

"Hey there Delilah what’s it like in New York City?
I’m a thousand miles away,"

Poking your head out of the office, you saw Harry sitting by your things. You squealed, and he sang:

"But girl, tonight you look so pretty, yes you do.
Times Square can’t shine as bright as you."

He stood up and gave a weak smile. "Sorry I’m late, babe." he said and opened his arms. You ran to him and stared at him for a few seconds, wondering if he was real. Then, you smacked his arm and giggled, "Harry! I thought you weren’t coming! I can’t start now because of you." You nuzzled into his neck and you held on to each other tightly. "Why not?" he asked. "I wasn’t focused enough, because you promised you’d be here, and you weren’t!" Stepping away, you crossed your arms and frowned. Leaning in, Harry lightly pecked your lips and smiled. "Maybe you should go talk to your coach again, love." Grabbing his hand, you both walked out of the locker room. "Coach!" He turned around and smiled. "(Y/N), you’d better get pumped. You’re starting." he shook his clipboard as your jaw dropped. Turning to Harry, you said, "You planned this, didn’t you?" He shrugged, "Maybe. I’m going to go sit in the stands, okay?" "Harry Styles," you said. He looked at you expectantly. "I hate you." Tousling his hair, you gently kissed him. Harry started to walk away. Then, he turned around, "You know, (Y/N), you do look very beautiful in your uniform." he winked at you. You smiled and blew him a kiss.

Throughout the whole game, which your team won, Harry held up a sign that said, "Go (Y/N)! Harry loves (Y/N)!"
