Myracle Amouria Camarii Patrice was born with a little dark afro that was dark enough to disappear in an unlit room in the Puerto Plata Dominicans. She has skin that glows like the tail of a firefly, eyes that sparkle like glitter in a bright summer sun with one being brown and the other being hazel, and a smile that is wider than the longitude and latitude of the Earth combined. Me and her dad Brandon are proud and overjoyed to welcome our little bundle of joy into the world. Though we have concerns because of how bogus the world is, we are very excited to have a beautiful baby girl. As our daughter Myracle grows older, her hair becomes the talk of the town. People oftenly stop me and her Brandon just to admire her beautiful afro.

I'm having a mix of excitement and nerves as me and Brandon arrive at the airport in Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic, with our newborn daughter Myracle. Leaving it all behind to start a new life in America we have been working towards for years.

As we made our way through airport security, my hand was held tightly by Brandon, attempting to reassure me. I have never flown before and the thought of the long journey ahead of me filled me with enough anxiety to overflow a fish tank, fear gripping my heart and tightly squeezing.

Once we board the plane, I feel my nerves begin to settle as I gaze out of the window and watch the Dominican Republic disappear behind the clouds. Brandon grabs my hand and smiles "Estamos haciendo esto, mi amor."

As the plane lands in America, we can't contain our excitement. We are finally starting our new life with our newborn daughter. We grab our luggage, and make our way to the exit, ready to take on whatever challenges may come our way.

I, my boyfriend Brandon, and Myracle and I have been struck by the stark contrast between America and our former home in Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic. Since the move, we have to adjust to a completely different way of life.

No longer are the familiar sounds of bustling streets, and the smell of the crystal blue ocean. Instead, we're surrounded by the hustle and bustle of many cars rushing by and towering buildings and skyscrapers. It's quite overwhelming for me and Brandon.

Despite the initial shock, we have determination to make the most of our new lives in America. We've spent our days exploring the city and getting to know our new neighbours. It's clear that America is vastly different from Puerto Plata, but we have determination to make it our new home.

~A year later~

We have been living in America for about two years now and it's been an incredible adventure so far. We've had our fair share of ups and downs, but overall we are loving it here. The people that we have met are so friendly and welcoming, and we've made some amazing friends. We've had chances to travel around the country and see breathtaking sights. One of my favourite trips was when we went to New York City, there we saw the Statue of Liberty and went to the top of the Empire State building. We are also enjoying exploring the local cuisine and trying new foods. Living so far from the place we were born is very different and challenging, but it's also incredibly rewarding. We feel grateful for the opportunity to have this adventure together.

Our little one is starting preschool at la Academia de Aprendizaje Yemark, it's a private academy, and we are so excited to have this new chapter in our lives. It's unbelievable that our baby is already three years old. We can't wait for her to make more new friends and learn new things. It's going to be a big adjustment for all of us, but we are confident that she'll thrive in this new environment. It's amazing to see how much she's grown and developed over these past few years, and we are eager to see what the future holds for not only her, but for all of us. We are very grateful for this opportunity and can't wait to see the many wonderful things she will accomplish at la Academia de Aprendizaje Yemark.

~Myracle's point of view~

Today is my first day of preschool and I'm both nervous and excited. As I walk inside the classroom, I spot another little girl with curly hair playing with blocks and I go over to talk to her and we hit it off immediately. We giggle and play together, I know that we will be the best of friends. But little do I know that she will be my lifelong sister. My heart fills with joy when I think about all of the adventures and memories that we are going to create together.

~Later that day. Brandon's perspective~

As I am doing my daughter's hair, I can't help but notice something magical is happening within Myracles small, black afro. It's a world of wonder and excitement hidden within her curly locks. Myracle is beaming with excitement as I braid her hair, I can't help but feel proud of the little girl she's becoming . It's amazing to see how much she has grown and developed over the years already, and I am confident that she will continue to surprise us with her many talents and abilities. As I finished her hair, I couldn't help but feel a sense of wonder and excitement for what the future holds for my little girl. I am super grateful for her and the joy that she brings into our lives every day.
