"Fine, I guess you're right. We should get some money together and we can find a hotel to stay in. I need somewhere quiet to recover but also somewhere close to Lymasia."
Robbie didn't question her plan as he was all fired up already. They made their way down to tell his parents- though it took time to get through the maze of a house. Mr and Mrs Worcester weren't impressed by their decision, but when L explained how everyone was treating her, they soon changed their tune.
"I'd also like for us to come with you, but I understand we could be a burden." Mrs Worcester admitted, her hands sinking into her knitted jumper.
L pulled on her hands and shook her head, "You will never be a burden for me. I just want you to stay safe and this is the best place for you. You already said how well you've settled in, and this problem is between me and them. I don't want you to take it on as well."
"L, you're family, we share our problems." Mr Worcester told her with a nod of his head for emphasis.
L smiled appreciatively, "I understand, thank you. And I suppose I know that Edra and the others mean well, but their delivery sucks. I need to figure it out for myself, and I need real, unconditional support. The kind I've always received from the three of you."
Mrs Worcester held an arm out, and L leaned into her hug, feeling everything she'd just spoken of in that one gesture.
"Just tell us what you need before you go, and we'll try to help however we can."
"We need to find somewhere to stay for a while that isn't governed by the Council or organised by Edra."
L frowned, realising her only connections were in the Supernatural community, and those in turn would bring the Council running eventually.
"We might know somewhere you can go."
L and Robbie stared in surprise, seeing Mr and Mrs Worcester with suspiciously proud expressions.
"You remember how we told you that we knew about the Supernatural before you told us?" Mrs Worcester asked.
"Yes... you knew Bryce from before." L spoke quietly.
"That's right, dear, well we weren't the only humans at that time who were involved. We have friends who know about this world, who you could stay with."
"Really? That would be great, I don't suppose they live near Lymasia?"
"Unfortunately not, but why would you need them to?" Mr Worcester asked.
L shook her head, "It doesn't matter. Could you write down their address for me? And help us get some supplies together?"
They readily agreed, and everyone rushed to prepare them for leaving.
L had been so glad to get out of the Inn and get back to everyone here, but since arriving, she had felt nothing but pressure and expectation. She couldn't stay under those conditions. She wanted to help the Supernatural community once she'd recovered, but she couldn't do that while constantly being told how to live.
When Maeve arrived an hour later, she and Robbie were already packed and ready to go.
"And where in the world are you going now?" Maeve sounded concerned.
L looked at her apologetically and explained as quickly as she could.
"I'm sorry, Maeve, but I have to do this my way. I hope you can understand."
"I don't understand why you have to leave here, but I do trust you. Can I help?"
L smiled and held out her arms for a quick hug, which was always a different experience when hugging Maeve.
