Chapter 17- Home at Last but different

My heart was racing

“Its them” Lydia said getting up too. I looked and saw my soulmate. I couldn’t help the tears as he rode in. I didn't think twice I ran to him. when he spotted me he climbed off his horse and wrapped me in his arms tightly.

“Oh my love I missed you” he said kissing me deeply.

“I missed you too. I love you so much” I said. I noticed how he had a small beard and moustache the ones that grow around the mouth. I kissed him all over his face

“I am so glad you are safe” I said kissing him again. he wouldn’t let me go.

“It was a tough fight but we won” he announced to everyone. They all cheered and I saw Maria and Lydia hugging their men.

“I have someone for you to meet” I said grabbing Drake’s hand. he looked confused. I walked to just a few meters from where Declande was watching

“You see that little boy with the brown hair and sea green eyes?” I asked. drake nodded and then looked at me with a frown

“I found out I was pregnant after you left. That is your son Declande” I said. I saw him swallow and his eyebrows went up in that innocent way.

“He... is our son?” he barely whispered. I kissed Drake’s cheek

“Yes. Declande Drake Vladimir” I said smiling at Declande who was watching us. Drake swallowed again and walked towards him. he knelt right in front of him and smiled. Declande looked at me and I smiled and nodded. I watched as Declande hugged his father who eventually hugged him back. I let out a short happy sound as the tears sprung in my eyes. I noticed numerous people watching. Drake then picked Declande up and carried him towards me.

“My love” he whispered and gently kissed me. I smiled and looked at Declande

“We both missed you” I said to Drake.

“Tonight we feast!” Drake yelled. People all over cheered and whooped while we walked to the castle. Once inside he put Declande down and our son looked at me

“Can I go play again mummy?” he asked

“Of course darling” I said bending down and kissing his head. he grinned and ran out to play again. After he left Drake turned to me

“I missed you so much it hurt” he said

“Same” I replied. I kissed him again savouring it. he kept his arms wrapped firmly around me.

“I’m sorry I wasn’t here for Declande’s birth” he said resting his head against mine.

“I spent nine months straight on that balcony waiting for you” I confessed. He closed his eyes and then when he opened them they had tears

‘It was so scary fighting. I almost died three times” he said.

“But you didn't thank god” I said. he nodded and then scooped me up into his arms.

“I love you” he said as he walked up to our room

“I love you” I said kissing him. when we reached the room he removed my dress and I removed his clothes. He made love to me three times! And then it was time for the feast. I had a shower and then changed and so did Drake. He looked so tired. I did his tie like always and he rested his hands on my hips.

“you look beautiful” he said

“You look handsome” I said grinning and pecking him.

‘Mummy?” Declande asked from the door. I laughed when I saw he was trying to tie his tie.
