Chapter 14- Changes happen in the Blink of an eye

When the reception ended we headed inside to our room. I got Drake to help remove my dress and he planted kisses on my shoulders. He took his crown off and took mine off. I removed his jacket, then his shirt. Drake removed his pants and he was left in his boxers while I was in my bra and underwear. He kissed me and we moved towards the bed. He removed my bra and my underwear and then I removed his boxers. I felt him enter and I threw my head back and grasped the sheets. He kissed me and we both moaned.

“I want to be a vampire” I said to him when he kissed my neck. he froze and looked at me

“Are you sure baby?” he asked. I nodded and he kissed me again. when we were about to reach our peaks he sunk his teeth into my neck. I cried out but it soon turned into a pleasurable moan. I could feel my body weakening as he drank my blood. Soon I was closing my eyes. When I was nearly unconscious Drake stopped and made a cut on his neck

“Drink baby” he said. I didn't think I just did. His blood tasted revolting at first but then it tasted sweet and addicting. I let my nails drag down his back and he moaned as I drank. He pulled my mouth away and gently kissed me licking the blood off my lips. I felt exhausted

“Sleep baby” he whispered. I did as I was told.

I was sore when I woke up. and everything was tremendously bright. I squinted and looked at Drake. He was fast asleep. I looked and saw a bit of blood on my pillow and the sheets. I licked my lips and felt something totally not normal. I ran my tongue over my teeth again and felt them. I yelped and jumped out of bed to the bathroom. I was there in a matter of seconds. I looked in the mirror and saw a blood stain on my cheeks and a little around my lips. I opened my mouth and saw them. two evenly sized fangs. Like Drake’s. I really was a vampire. I noticed my looks were clearer. Well I mean I was flawless. My eyes were even more sea green and my hair was more of a honey colour. I bit my lip and it didn't hurt. I grabbed the silk robe and walked out of the bathroom after cleaning the blood off me. Drake was awake and rubbing his eyes. When he saw me he smiled

“Morning my lovely wife” he said quietly but I still heard him loud and clear.

“Morning” I said back. I grinned and showed him my new fangs. He grinned too

“You make a lovely vampire”

“It was a painless process” I said frowning

“Because we are mates it wasn’t painful” he said coming up to me and touching something on my neck. I shivered as heat took over my body.

“Wait I have a mark?”

“The Royal one. I have one too” he said tilting his neck and showing me a mark that an intricate design of a rose.

“Do I have that too?”

“Yes” he said taking me into his arms. I kissed him and he kissed me back. He pulled me back to the bed and took my robe off.

A few hours later I was sprawled across his chest. then my tummy rumbled. I frowned and looked at it

“I think I’m hungry” I said. Drake nodded and smiled before kissing my forehead. He went into the closet and then came out wearing a pair of basketball shorts and a loose V-neck. he handed me some underwear and a bra and a summer dress. I put them on and put my hair up before walking downstairs with him. Our staff smiled and bowed at us. Drake made breakfast and I hugged him around the waist. He chuckled and put a fork to my mouth. I grinned and took a bite of whatever he was making.

“Mm that is so good!” I moaned. He chuckled again and then handed me a bottle with red liquid. I instantly drank it and licked my lips savouring the flavour

“That was blood wasn’t it?”

“Yes” he replied. I nodded and gently kissed him on his shoulder before sitting at the table as he served up our food.

After breakfast we went out to the town and walked around. People bowed and I found myself at Lydia’s house. I knocked and she answered with a smile

“Hello your majesties” she said

“Hi Lydia” I said grinning. She invited us in and Briana came running out

“Hello your majesty!” she said hugging me

“Hello Briana” I said lifting her into my arms.

“You’re a vampire now!” she said happily

“Yes I am” I replied

“Well I hope you enjoy this life” Lydia said softly

“I hope so” I said smiling fondly at my husband who was watching with a smile from the door.

“Well we better get going. We have to tour the whole town” drake said

“Oh of course. Have fun!” Lydia said grinning. We left and soon the whole kingdom knew I was a vampire. I didn't know my glory was going to be short lived though.

Dinner that night was disrupted when one of Drake’s soldiers barged in

“Sire, the wolves have declared war” he said. Drake stiffened and he stood letting go of my hand.

“Get the horses ready” he commanded. I felt a sadness take over. He was leaving. He looked at me and sighed. I frowned too and stood. Drake took both of my hands in his and looked me in the eyes.

“I have to go my love” he said. I nodded sadly.

“When?”

“The sooner the better” he said and then he kissed me with everything he had. I kissed him back and wrapped both my arms around him.

“When will you be home?” I asked

“When the war is over” he said. by this time the maid had packed his things and was waiting by the door. He took my hand and we walked out to see every member of the town outside in a line with solemn faced. We reached his horse and he climbed up. he reached down and gave me one last kiss.

“Watch the path from our balcony. Soon you will see me on it” he said and then they rode off. I had tears in my eyes and Lydia hugged me. I walked up to our room and watched as he rode into the night.
