"You summoned me, old friend"

Eros smiles at the man standing in front of him. An old friend he had refused to see for decades. A decision that has haunted him ever since. He was doing what was best for him at the expense of his friend's feelings. Not to mention Eros never came to the funeral of his wife. Not that he didn't want to but got wind of her perishing too late. His presence at that time would have opened the healing wound, he could not handle that.

"Apollo, it's been a while," Eros says with a happy face but a glint of guilt is hard to miss in his eyes. He abandoned Apollo when he needed him the most not because he wanted to but because his hands were tied. He could not see him suffer and do nothing. He did it for both of them.

"Yes, it has been. Tell me, how is my daughter doing in the human realm?" he asks plainly.

Eros sighs, "Apollo

"Don't, l know you have been seeing her with that friend of yours." He utters with a hard voice.

He has not been happy for a long time. The source of his happiness was ripped away from him. First, the gods took his daughter, and then the death stores his wife. A misfortune that tore him into pieces. The only reason he hasn't tried to kill himself is his daughter. He knows she will need him when she returns.

The death of his wife did a number on him. Apollo is even showing signs of aging even though he is immortal. The drapes he is wearing are wrinkled but he does not care. His hair now looks like locks as he has not been taking care of it. Everything fell apart but he has not lost hope yet, his daughter will return, and he will be the person she needs.

Eros draws in a breath, " Apollo you know very well I cannot disclose anything about her to you. I know you have been in a dark place since..."

''Do not go there!'' Apollo booms, eyes flushing with anger. ''you do not have the right to go there, ever.''

Eros raises his hands in surrender, ''Okay, I apologies.''

"Good. I had to try; I knew you were not going to say anything. So, tell me why I am here, I know you didn't summon me just to enjoy my company. I have better things to do." Apollo says scratching his chin. A habit he gained when he started keeping a beard.

Eros ignores the last part knowing it's out of frustration, "Hades took me to a witch who told me something aggravating. I want you to use your power to find out if it is the truth. I don't trust Hades."

Apollo smirks, ''Of course, what would become of you without me? It took a problem to make you see your old friend.'' He states voice filled with sarcasm.

''Apollo please''

"Why do you need my power when you have physical evidence? Love has finally found its way to you, my friend." Apollo smiles touching his shoulder. For the first time, a genuine smile appears on his face. Although he is still angry at Eos, he cannot dismiss the very thing Eros was looking for since the beginning of time. ''Why do you ask questions instead of just enjoying the happiness you have found.''

He looks at Apollo confused, " How did you know that? I do not remember telling you about my soulmate."

" I knew that this time was coming a long time ago, I didn't just know when."

" So, you are telling me you knew I was going to have a soulmate and never mentioned it?" His eyes grow in disbelief.

" Not entirely."

"What do you mean?"

Apollo clears his throat, "I knew he was coming, and I was not obligated to tell you. Besides, knowing would not have done you any good because you would have waited decades before you meet him. A frustration that was not worth my time or your heartache. I did it to save you the trouble of waiting. What kind of a friend would I have been if I made you travel the worlds for centuries trying to find the nonexistence."
